We tried the Infant Optics but it kept saying out of range when it definitely wasn't. Also, if the monitor was too close to other appliances in the house that use wifi, it would sometimes give an error message and the screen would turn off. We now have the Vava and I love it. The picture is clear and has good sound quality. The only downfall is the camera had to be plugged in, but that seems to be the case with most monitors.

We have the Vava one. I ordered it off of amazon but you can also order it straight from the company - they are out of California. I did some pretty extensive research because I wanted an actual quality non WiFi monitor. The infant optics reviews had a lot negative reviews similar to yours particularly about how it was always beeping it was out of range and they were like 20 feet from the baby/camera. I had my moms tech people at work look into the vava company also and there was a lot of great feedback. We are waiting on our baby any day now but I've been trying to use it a lot to get used to it. It has a really far range, great night mode, picture and sound are super clear. We've kept it on and the battery length has been really good so far. I've left it on at night in the nursery and kept the monitor in our room which is down the hall from each other and haven't had issues yet. The price is less than the baby optics but still on the expensive side and the only other downfall I could see is because it's not WiFi capable the camera has to be plugged into a wall. I personally felt most comfortable with that but it will require some maneuvering down the road once she goes into her crib.
