We got the [Eufy E20](https://www.amazon.ca/eufy-Connection-Ultra-Clear-Pan-Tilt-Portable/dp/B0DDTR3NPW) and love it. It has everything you're looking for. We choose not to use the wifi on it. This also gives you the flexibility if you decided you need it for a night. Battery life is insane on the monitor.
Direct purchase ("We got the Eufy E20... and love it") specifically choosing not to use the WiFi feature, with a concrete detail — "Battery life is insane on the monitor" — no caveats.
Eufy e21 or whatever 1080p. Has it all. Not 4k. Only because majority of your use will be in the dark and the night vision mode, the 4k and 1080p are pretty similar. I have both. WiFi and non wifi mode. App and non app mode. Good night time mode. No little green or red lights on camera in room. Battery life good. Camera has battery too so can move / travel / power outage still good. Sound quality is good. Has the screen power off if you want it. Has noise and temperature alarms. Zoom. Move camera.
Direct ownership ("I have both") with an extensive list of concrete features — WiFi and non-WiFi mode, app and non-app mode, good battery life, zoom, noise/temperature alarms — no complaints stated.
We got the Eufy E21 (4k) and love it. The monitor it comes with can connect to the camera in local only mode if you want, and then you can still access the camera from your phone. You can also buy add on cameras that can connect to the same monitor, which we did so that we could have a camera by his pack and play and a camera upstairs in his bedroom without having to constantly move it. I'm also a big fan of the Eufy customer service. I was having issues with the WiFi connections after connecting the second camera and their support team is fantastic. They literally never took more than 30 minutes to respond to email, even when I messaged them at 2am one time. Just FTM things lol. You can buy stands on Amazon that will make the Eufy work the same as the Nanit, but for a fraction of the price. The E21 also frequently goes on sale for about $100 off so just keep an eye out on the prices there.
Direct purchase ("We got the Eufy E21 (4k) and love it") with concrete detail on local-only mode and add-on cameras, offset by a minor caveat — WiFi connection issues after adding a second camera — resolved quickly by "fantastic" support.
Second the Eufy E21 (4K). We got it because we wanted a camera system that could be used locally or on WiFi and this fit the bill. Plus the clarity of the 4K...wowza. You can also install a MicroSD card into the camera so that you can save clips on the app as well. The monitor does from time to time, will say it can't connect to the camera but turning it off and back on, usually fixes that issue. It happens once in a blue moon but it does happen. Overall, I would highly recommend the Eufy E21 but like others have stated, wait for a sale if you can. We bought it at regular price and month later is was on sale for $100+ less.
Direct purchase ("Second the Eufy E21 (4K). We got it") with concrete detail — local/WiFi hybrid use, 4K clarity, MicroSD card for clips — offset by a specific minor issue (occasional connection drop fixed by power-cycling) that still leads to a strong recommendation.
I also did the E21 (2K). My spouse travels for work so it's important to him to see our LO, but I also like the security of non-wifi options. This seemed like the best option due to the hybrid function. We just turn off wifi mode when my spouse is town. Only thing I wish it had was the motion detection, but overall we bought during the Amazon Day sale and are happy with it so far.
Direct purchase ("I also did the E21 (2K)") citing the specific hybrid wifi/non-wifi function as the reason for buying, with a real caveat — "Only thing I wish it had was the motion detection" — otherwise "happy with it so far."
