About RedditMamas
Why I built this
I was putting together my baby registry and I could not figure out what was worth buying. Every list I found online was sponsored or just basically an ad. It was difficult to trust them.
I ended up doing what I do for most stuff - searching Reddit. People there have no reason to lie about a stroller. They just tell you if it worked or not.
The process was not easy - I kept digging through threads, cross-referencing what people said in different subreddits, keeping track of products that kept coming up. I kept a messy spreadsheet for a while and eventually thought - I could just make this a website.
How it works
I built a pipeline that scans Reddit threads from parenting communities and pulls out every comment where someone talks about a specific product they actually own. If enough people mention the same thing with enough detail, it makes it onto the site. I used to do this manually - now it’s automated, but I still review what goes in.
No product gets listed here unless multiple real people have said something substantive about it. No sponsored placements. No “we received this product for review.” Just data from parents who bought it with their own money. If I can find an affiliate link I add it, if not, I still include the product.
Who I am
I’m a first-time mom who also happens to know how to build websites. This started as a spreadsheet for my own registry and turned into something I thought other parents might find useful too.
If you have feedback, categories you want covered, or just want to say hi - I’d love to hear from you.
