VTech Non-WiFi Baby Monitor

I like our audio only VTECH audio only monitor. It has a 1,000 foot range, so I can easily use it outside while my baby naps. I've been using it for almost 3 years and just purchased another for my newborn.

Seconding Vtech! Its less than $100, comes with a monitor and 2 cameras, not on wifi, and has been extremely reliable the 6 months we've had it. Battery life also seems good, and if these batteries die, it looks very easy to replace. We intend on using these for as many kids as we're gonna have.

I was gifted a Vtech audio and camera monitor. It's plug in only (no WiFi) and it was $40 on amazon. It works great and I can move to different rooms as needed. No complaints!

I got the vtech baby monitor and it's had zero issues. I love it; I think it being audio-only is a plus as one can become too obsessed with monitoring and tracking if prone to anxiety, which new parents often are.

We have the vtech non wifi sound only monitor and it's fantastic, simple, reliable, and cheap. I think the range is like 1000 ft and I can get service even in the yard or if I go get something from the car.

Ours is an older model as we got it used from a family member. But I just checked on Amazon and it looks like the VTech DM221-2 Audio Baby Monitor is exactly the same, just a little prettier. I recommend getting two parent units. We put one in the living room and one in the bedroom, so we never had to worry about moving them. Our daughter is 2 and we now only use them if she has a stomach bug so we can catch if she throws up in the night. They're pretty powerful, so depending on how close I put the monitor I could hear her breathing, tossing around, all that. So I never felt like I was missing anything.

I also love this VTech one! Super simple, inexpensive, and it has the motion sensor and temperature monitor, plus you can tap the monitor for a little red light if you need it in the dark.

I love the Vtech monitors—pretty simple. I like the slightly more expensive one that has a walkie-talkie feature. It's not super useful when the kid is a baby, but it's extremely useful for when your kindergartener calls out for snacks and you can walkie-talkie them to stay put and wait for beef jerky.

Vtech it was £65 from Smyths toys. Battery lasts ages, picture is clear enough to see baby breathe. Comes with a wall mount however Iv never used it as I like to be able tell easily move it around.

Love our VTech one tbh. Got a universal arm holder from Amazon for it and it's been amazing

I don't have a video one but I have an audio vtech and really like it. There are a few closed system video ones out there but not nearly as many from brands I'm familiar with, so I went with vtech audio only out of an abundance of caution.

I have a Vtech audio only baby monitor. It has the ability to talk to the baby unit which is nice. But it's not WiFi. Just plug in and go. I like it.

Vtech, I loved it. Especially the temperature monitor on it.

We have a VTech one. Had it for over a year and we still like it. It is mounted above his crib and can see the majority of it. 

Honestly we have the Vtech sound monitor and sounds like what you're looking for. No Wi-Fi. We also have the Vtech video monitor too that is nice. We got the sound only ones for travel but ended up using them all the time.

We just use an audio only on. vtech I think? 17 dollars from Walmart.  But we didn't even get one until I was visiting family, our house was so small and the baby rarely slept away from me anyway so it wasn't worth it. But now that we have it, I will use it again for my second ! Hopefully this one will tolerate napping away from me. 

Me too - vtech lasts really well on battery life and works well!

We've used the Vtech VM3254 (basic non WiFi monitor) for our first and it's been great. Easy to wall mount or just have on a shelf/books whatever to balance on, not a proper cot mount though. We're due second baby soon and you can use the monitor with 2 cameras set up too so we'll be using it for both kids

I use the VTech monitor that's $40 from Walmart. No bells and whistles, but I like that you can wall mount it and easily take it down for travelling. It's done the job just fine for me!

We got the VTech video version from the link! We have only installed it and tested it out. No full use yet since our baby just arriving this month. But so far we like it in our tests! It's solid quality video and way big enough to see the baby. Mostly we just wanted it on a closed system off the WiFi :)

I have this one... It is nice that it tilts/ can move. A non-wifi one that we bought for my in-law's house (same brand) does not much to our surprise! It is useful when you have to move it to see if they have woken up / fell asleep. But ours doesn't have motion sensors (I think). One of the Vtech models. It works well but I don't love the camera. It feels like it's zoomed in but it's. Image quality is good audio is good, range is great.

I've had a different but similar vtech monitor for over two years and the only problem I've had in that time is that occasionally the temp reading will quit, but turning the camera off and on again fixes it. 

Baby isn't here yet, but we got a basic VTech monitor. There is no screen, just the audio monitors. I wanted something that was basic and didn't have a camera or connect to WiFi. Hoping it works well once baby is here.

I've heard nothing but good things about the Vava and it's the only other monitor besides Nanit that does split screen if you're planning to have kids relatively close together. FWIW I do love the Nanit enough to have bought a second one for baby #2. It did suck paying for a year of insights, but my first is 2 in January and we just bought a twin bed to move him to then so we wouldn't be using the insights at that point anyway. I figure it was worth it to me in the end to pay for the year while he was still in the crib. We have a vtech for travel since we didn't want to have to rely on wifi, and I don't really love it. The picture isn't near as good when you're used to the Nanit and the battery life of the screen isn't great.

Vtechs seems to be very hit or miss. We got one that basically seems like a lemon. As well as some other smaller issues, it basically disconnects after 4-5 hours and will only reconnect if the camera is turned on and off again.

I'm returning the vtech vm819 because the baby unit has a light I can't turn off, and not enough features overall.  Will keep researching! After using one a few weeks ago, my absolute must-have is one that does NOT alert after every single movement. It was way too much.
