Not super affordable but the Dutalier from Costco is a great one! I splurged on it for my first and currently pregnant with third - it has been used EVERY SINGLE DAY, multiple times a day! Not just during pregnancy and for rocking baby but also as a regular rocking chair and as part of our regular decor as a good lounge chair. Even the kids love it! Its worth the money and one of the few baby furniture that has been very very useful.
Enthusiastic — used EVERY SINGLE DAY across 3 pregnancies/babies. Multi-purpose: pregnancy, rocking baby, regular lounge chair, kids' chair. 'Worth the money' and 'very very useful'. One of the strongest durability endorsements.
Personally, I have two Dutailier gliders that I adore. Including one that's almost 20 years old.
Enthusiastic — 'adore' both of their Dutailiers. One is nearly 20 years old demonstrating exceptional longevity and build quality.
Dutailer (sp?) 100%. You can buy them used and even get new cushions on Etsy. They are such high quality.
Enthusiastic — '100%' recommendation. Highlights high quality and practical tip about buying used with new Etsy cushions for value.
Dutailiar rockers have removable cushions (and of course you can wipe down the wood. I got an older model off Facebook marketplace and threw everything in the wash and dryer. It came out beautifully and looked great until we recovered it. Would absolutely recommend. Obviously wouldn't help with smoke in the wood, but you can smell that. I typically would bring large trash bags and put all the cushions in them before securing the bag. Keeps everything contained.
Positive — 'absolutely recommend'. Highlights practical advantage of removable washable cushions. Bought used and cleaned up beautifully. Smart secondhand buying tips.
My husband is 6'2" and has no issues with our Dutalier chair.
Positive — works well for a 6'2" user with no issues. Brief but confirms tall-person compatibility.
