Boudreaux's Butt Paste

For anyone reading this and looking for solutions to recurring diaper rashes: AQUAPHOR AND BOUDREAUX BUTT PASTE. That's it. That's the holy grail. That, and drying in between changes (after wiping) every time. Their skin should NOT be wet or damp when the diaper goes back on. Clean up, pat dry with a cloth, do some air time if there's a rash present, then apply a thick layer of butt paste and Aquaphor (the original kind, not their diaper rash cream- it doesn't work the same, ironically). You're welcome. -a mom of 2 who has dealt with eczema, recurring diaper rashes, constipation/encopresis, etc. Side note: if you're breastfeeding, milky baths work wonders for rashes. This is especially handy if you have any milk stored in the freezer that has gone past the expiration date for consumption. It's perfectly safe, and amazing, for milky baths.

Yup, this is the truth. Boudreauxs was able to clear up just about any rash my daughter had in less than a day. If you told me they put actual magic in that, I'd believe you.

We've used this from pediatrician recommendation since newborn stage and we still use it. Does the trick after one use.

Boudreauxs butt paste was all we used and it worked great for both of our kids. Super thick stuff that stayed on whatever they did.

Neither. Dry baby's bum really good after a diaper change (we use some soft cotton baby washcloths) then apply Boudreauxs butt paste. This is the only combo that cleared up my baby's rash, and we'd tried both Desitin (purple) and aquaphor.

I don't really use anything regularly.. I find it helps a lot to rinse her in water and pat dry. If she gets a bit of a rash Bordeaux butt paste makes it go away so fast

dr Boudreaux butt paste--I use the maximum strength kind (red container). Apply liberally at the 1st signs of diaper rash & it should disappear within a short period of time.

Boudreaux butt paste, for sure. Also, for poopy diaper changes, don't use wipes if you can help it. This is a two person job, but rinsing her off over the tub is the best (one person hold her up, the other rinses with a gentle stream of warm water from a handheld shower head or you can even just use a cup). Then pat her dry, apply paste, and if you can, lay her on a towel and let her have some diaper-free time. It'll clear right up.

Earth mama made my baby's diaper rash worse it seemed. She has incredibly sensitive skin. Boudreaux's was a major win for us. We used the green tube when we did cloth diapers and the max zinc red tube when we did disposables or cloth liners.

Also different babies will respond to different treatments differently! Baby number 1's rashes cleared up with Boudreaux's, but baby number 2's booty likes Aquaphor! Don't be afraid to change it up and see what works. Most importantly, rashes spread in moist environments (which is why baby wipes can irritate them). Make sure their booty is dry before putting a diaper on!

Cloth diaper mama here….we use green Boudreaux or just plain lanolin! Works great. I put a layer on preventative when my kids start sleeping thru the night to keep them from sleeping on wet skin for hours.

We use the green Budreaux's, too! Works just fine. I like that i can actually find it in stores instead of having to buy it online. Edit to add: does not stain cloth diapers.

I generally didn't use creams unless she got a rash. In those cases, I had the Aloe Vera Budreaux's butt cream that works great on her and doesn't affect the diapers. I see lots of others recommending coconut oil, so I may try that this time around with my second baby!

We cloth diaper and use the green Boudreaux's for mild rashes and Pipette baby balm as a preventative at all other diaper changes. Really bad diaper rashes get 40% zinc Destin, and we use sposies with that.

Hey just a heads up, A&D and Desitin both have Lanolin in them. Is it possible the child has an allergy? There's something called the lanolin paradox - on healthy skin, there's no reaction but on broken skin it can make things much worse. My kid has a lanolin allergy so we used Boudreauxs Butt Paste. 

We use boudreauxs in the green tube, desitin for the really bad/stubborn rashes.

so my baby currently has a yeast infection and her doctor said to make sure I continue to use the whole tube 2x a day till it's gone even when it looks healed. it's like antibiotics where you gotta do the full round or you risk it coming back. if that's not it i've had great experience with boudreaux butt paste doing a good job of keeping a barrier

I had a coconut oil stick at one point. But for a real rash I used the red tube of butt paste

We've been using the green boudreaux's butt paste without an issue so far. I also will sometimes spray them with hypochlorous acid and let them air dry and that always clears up any redness they have in a few minutes.

Nothing has worked better for us than the Weleda diaper cream. Boudreaux's is ok, Desitin didn't do much. I can't recommend Weleda highly enough!

You don't really need something with zinc oxide daily, but using something like aquaphor creates a barrier between the skin and diaper contents which helps to prevent rashes.

Have you tried switching the diaper brand and wipes brand that you are using? Also recommend triple paste or calmoseptine if it's really bad

A & D is what my peds recommended

Triple paste makes a 3x version, that's what I use when it's bad. The rest of the time I just use regular triple paste. My girl had mild diaper rash for the first several weeks of her life and I tried everything-Honest, both Desitins, A&D, and Boudreauxs. Purple desitin helped but triple paste was what finally got rid of it. Boudreauxs was my least favorite because it was hard to get off.

My wife likes A + D or whatever it's called. Aquaphor rash cream also worked well for my baby. My baby did not do well with the butt paste one by Bordaux or whatever its called.

We use A&D. It's best practice to dry baby's skin before putting ointment on. Be forewarned, if you use the Bourdeox (idr spelling) Butt Paste, if baby has a rash and you don't dry their skin before adding ointment the rash will get so much worse! We found out the hard way. Decided to discontinue using that brand. We have had really good experience with A&D. We use the preventative ointment if baby looks a little pink. The treatment ointment if it's an actual rash. It works within a day usually.

Triple paste. Other things we've done to prevent diaper rash (my LO had it BAD his first few weeks of life)- blow drying the booty after every change, making sure to use a lot of diaper cream each time, and using Millie moon diapers which are more absorbent than any other brand we've tried. We use water wipes which is a little easier than the cotton pads you're using but also prob more expensive. Whatever you do, do not use butt paste if your babe has sensitive skin. The ingredients have known skin irritants and it tore up my baby's skin. Took me a few days to realize it was the culprit but in the meantime it was terrible and was breaking my heart to see him in pain
