Aquaphor Baby Healing Ointment

Aquaphor every diaper change, no exceptions. Never had a single diaper rash.

The only thing that worked with our 3rd kid was Aquaphor.

Soap and water, pat dry, aquaphor. Honestly regular aquaphor, but also their diaper paste/zinc based cream is amazing. We use the purple tube which is the extra strength but they have a regular strength one as well. We tried the Boudreaux butt paste, and hands down the aquaphor version is way way better and I wish I had switched sooner haha

The aquaphor one rocks - when our baby had diaper rash, anything with zinc actually made it worse but we saw overnight improvement when we only used aquaphor.

+1. I tried all the fancy hyped up diaper creams (Triple Paste, Boudreaux's, etc) but nothing works as well on my baby as Aquaphor.

I love the aquaphor diaper cream with 40% zinc ( purple label). Just make sure you use water and a soft cloth to wipe the bum, pat dry and then apply the cream. If the bum isn't completely dry, you're sealing in moisture on the rash which will make it worse. Hope this helps!

I love aquaphor, babe doesn't have sensitive skin but it cleared up the rash better than anything else!

For anyone reading this and looking for solutions to recurring diaper rashes: AQUAPHOR AND BOUDREAUX BUTT PASTE. That's it. That's the holy grail. That, and drying in between changes (after wiping) every time. Their skin should NOT be wet or damp when the diaper goes back on. Clean up, pat dry with a cloth, do some air time if there's a rash present, then apply a thick layer of butt paste and Aquaphor (the original kind, not their diaper rash cream- it doesn't work the same, ironically). You're welcome. -a mom of 2 who has dealt with eczema, recurring diaper rashes, constipation/encopresis, etc. Side note: if you're breastfeeding, milky baths work wonders for rashes. This is especially handy if you have any milk stored in the freezer that has gone past the expiration date for consumption. It's perfectly safe, and amazing, for milky baths.

We typically don't have to use any zinc treatment as the aquaphor creates enough barrier to prevent the diaper rash. We've probably put Bordeaux underneath a handful of times. We just do aquaphor every diaper change and we also use it as moisturizer after every bath. 

The actual Aquaphor diaper rash cream is fabulous and has zinc oxide like other rash creams but no fragrance. It's what we use :)

We use aquaphor and have had absolutely no issues with our prefolds, flats, and fitteds!

Second the aquaphor diaper cream! My girl had a bad patch down there for 2 months and we finally switched to that and it cleared up in a week or two. Def agree on making sure the whole surface is dry before you put it on!

Just regular aquaphor! We use the baby one that comes in the tub…. Apparently the regular one and the baby one are the same but the baby isn't as thick. We still use it for bedtime and overnight at 17 months

We use Aquaphor daily as a barrier to prevent rash and Boudrdeaux's Butt Paste if he has a rash!

I like the Aquaphor zinc diaper cream. I would make sure you put the zinc on first before you do a barrier cream like Vaseline or OG Aquaphor. I chose aquaphor because it's consistently dermatologist recommended product, vs some organic/greenwashed brands that put potentially irritating botanicals and fragrances in there. I'd also note that the term "hypoallergenic" is not a regulated term which makes this extra fun to navigate.

I found that Aquaphors 3 in 1 diaper rash cream works amazing. It's not pictured here but I just wanted to add my two cents :)

Weleda and Aquaphor are the only ones I use. Obsessed with how quickly Weleda soothes the irritation and Aquaphor is a FANTASTIC barrier!

For me the baby aquaphor was the absolute best. It also works great for winter lips. Lol

Team Aquaphor here too! We use it for everything skin related and if he gets redder than i like though, i use the traditional A&D ointment as recommended by the nurse who cares for us in the hospital.

Aquaphor has worked so great for both of my boys. But you have to really make sure the area is completely dry before you apply it or it won't work. My oldest would get terrible rashes before we knew he had a milk and soy allergy. I started doing aquaphor with every diaper change and it cleared right up! Now if my baby starts to get a little red I can keep it from turning into a full on rash if I add in aquaphor.

Yeah we went thru a bunch of different stuff at first, but now we just use Aquaphora.

The only diaper cream that ever worked well for us was pinxav but we only used that when she very clearly had a rash when she was younger. We typically just make sure everything is clean and very dry and then do aquaphor. Even now if she has some red bumps or redness we still just make sure it's clean and then aquaphor and it clears by the next change. We had some bad rashes when she was little from changing formulas and it was always so sad 😭

I always use aquaphor or A/d on every change bc it makes a poop so much easier to clean….and then zinc based cream if there is any redness or bumps.

Aquaphor diaper rash cream is great. Seems to be moisturizing the the skin while still helping with the rash

Mom of four with particularly sensitive skin kiddos. I just use aquaphor unless the rash is particularly bad, then I do my own (ped approved) magic butt paste. I just mix in my hand equal amounts of bactrin (antibiotic), hydrocortisone cream (steroid), and lotromin (anti fungal). My ped will prescribe a prescription strength version of that but it's hard to get it compounded so I often just do that. Triple paste honestly I've used a bunch but it doesn't seem to work any better than aquaphor/vaseline. It's just a skin protectant. Also don't underestimate the value of naked time!

Is the area red with raised spots? If so it may be a yeast rash (my toddler would get them instead of normal diaper rashes). For those I used aquaphor during the day with lotrimin af (not ultra) about 3-4 times a day. At night I'd used desitin with the lotrimin. If it's a yeast rash the trick is to wipe their butt, pat dry (I used a little toilet paper) and apply whatever you need to, I use some more toilet paper to apply which makes it easier. Good luck!

Calsomeptine + aquaphor (to make it spread 😅). I swear this worked the best and still does for my very rashy 2 year old niece! Also hosing them off > wiping during the sensitive times

Aquaphor for just daily prevention. Definitely Triple Paste for any actual rash though. It is so much better than Desitin.

My wife likes A + D or whatever it's called. Aquaphor rash cream also worked well for my baby. My baby did not do well with the butt paste one by Bordaux or whatever its called.

Aquaphor if no rash or just mild redness. I like A&D in the blue package for rashes, but most zinc based diaper creams are similar. I just picked the one that has a texture I find easy to wash off my hands.

Aquafor mixed with desitin. I do a 50/50 mix and put it in an old Vaseline container.

Both! That's been the secret for my daughter who unfortunately is very diaper rash prone. 1) wipe 2) fully air dry 3) layer of zinc based cream like design 4) layer or Vaseline based ointment like aquaphor to seal in the zinc stuff 5) at next diaper change, wipe carefully to try to leave a thin layer of zinc. Just wipe enough to get rid of the poop. Then reapply more zinc and Vaseline.

Aquaphor (clear for preventative & the white stuff for treatment) but recently have been using Boogie Wipes diaper rash spray & its AMAZING

I've found that aquaphor works good on very small light diaper rashes, whereas desitin is a god send for bad rashes (at least for my son). Key to whichever you use is to make sure baby's bottom is dry after wiping, then put the stuff on.

I didn't find anything worked (desitin or aquaphor included) UNTIL I started drying my baby's bottom after cleaning and before applying cream. Sometimes I would even blow softly or let him air out his bottom for a bit before applying cream. That's when I really noticed the diaper rash starting to heal. Now I always dry and apply diaper cream if there is a rash starting, otherwise I dry then use Vaseline/aquaphor to keep the moisture out.

Another option to try based on what helped my sons diaper rash when it got bad once - I would pat bun with a wet cloth rather than wipes (unless with was a poop - then I'd use wipes), I'd pat dry with another clean cloth. Then apply Vaseline. Cleared up after a few days. I tried aquaphor as that was suggested to me once but i felt it wasn't helping. Plus I didn't like that it was so pasty on his bum. I like the Vaseline healing jelly, went on a lot nicer/smoother.

Neither. Dry baby's bum really good after a diaper change (we use some soft cotton baby washcloths) then apply Boudreauxs butt paste. This is the only combo that cleared up my baby's rash, and we'd tried both Desitin (purple) and aquaphor.

I was also using Sudocrem and then Aquaphor when my daughter suddenly got a diaper rash around 5 weeks. Those creams did nothing. Penaten got rid of the rash almost immediately. Unfortunately she's still a little red around the anus because of the constant sharts but the nurse we saw recently said it's normal due to acidity in poop at this early age and to keep doing what we're doing- wash cloth instead of wipes, lots of air and allow bottom to dry before applying cream.
