Tula Free to Grow

Tula free to grow. I have several different carriers and I like them all but my Tula FTG is the ONLY one that doesnt have any aspects which annoy me. Ive used it from around a month old to a little over 3 years. It's definitely my most ergonomic carrier for both front and back carry. Ive used it for chores around the house and for multi hour hikes. Mine is over 4 years old now and has been used HEAVILY and washed many times and it still looks and feels brand new.

I literally today switched my 11 week old from the ergobaby embrace to the Tula FTG as he's now over 12 lbs and the embrace was getting uncomfortably stretchy. I had bought the FTG with my first son and mannnn did I miss it. It is SO supportive and comfortable. And also pretty because I got it in green linen and it makes me happy to wear :) I was apprehensive about the learning curve with the H strap but there really wasn't one. I love my Tula free to grow! I WFH and also keep baby home with me, so I bought it to do contact naps in - it's been used almost every day for 9 months. I've used it everywhere - the buckles are solid plastic so it's even my go-to when traveling because I don't have to take baby out when I go through TSA. Firstly I would get secondhand things on Facebook Marketplace so that if they don't work out, you haven't sunk too much money in, and you can just try to resell them. 😊 My personal favorite for hot weather is the Tula Coast carriers which have a mesh panel. The free-to-grow is the most comfortable IMO. I also have a linen ring sling which I like a lot, but it hurts my back to use for long because all the weight goes on one shoulder. I also have a stretchy wrap from Tuck & Bundle which is also pretty good for hot weather because the cloth is quite thin.

Here for Tula recommendation! Their full wrap conversions are so. SOFT! And yet sturdy! We love our free to grow

Tula Free to Grow has been absolutely wonderful and I obsessively researched for a long time before baby came! We started using it at 2 months old and he's 5 months now, no complaints!

Tula Free to Grow. I've walked literal miles at a time wearing my 25 lb kid inward facing and been perfectly comfy.

We have a Tula FTG and an Artipoppe. I'll be honest, the FTG is my workhorse! It's so much easier and faster to get baby into by myself. Also much more adjustable.

Another vote for Tula FTG! I love how supportive it is, I have no back pain with it. It's easily adjustable and easy to use. I started using it at about 3 months and around 10lbs but it can be used earlier.

Have the mabe & it's still too big for our 3 month 12.5lber imo. I got the Tula free to grow a few weeks back so I could actually newborn wear with mine & love it!

Another vote for the Tula Free to Grow - loved it. V comfortable, easy to adjust, and my babies enjoyed being in it. I used the Ergobaby 360 and didn't find it comfortable at all. It'd be worth checking if there's a local sling library where you could try out a few carriers before committing to buying one.

In potato phase I loved the baby K'tan, and after that we switched to the Tula free to grow and it's come in handy even at 2.5.

My Tula F2G is my favorite carrier I've owned so far! (Vs ergobaby and lillebaby). But carriers can be very very personal to your body when considering what's comfortable vs not. Is there a babywearing group in your area? They often have "carrier libraries" so you can try different ones. I would say get a stretchy wrap for the newborn stage and find a way to test the carriers you're interested in once baby is already here. Or buy second hand so you dont waste too much money! I have the Tula FTG, I know it is a bit over your budget (I think the canvas FTGs are $180) but it's a great carrier and if you get it on sale or used, you can get it for under $150. You can use it for a long time, it's very adjustable, and you can use it when baby is pretty small until they're basically toddlers.

I have a few carriers (2 newborn and 3 bigger ones) and I probably use my Tula FTG the most. I didn't use it during newborn stage though - I had the ergo embrace and the baby bjork one I think?

I have a Tula free to grow which I liked a lot for my first, and I just bought a Lenny lamb Lennylight carrier to my newborn because she's not big enough for the Tula for a bit and I've been eyeing it for a while. It was definitely a splurge purchase though. Look into a baby wearing pending library near you if possible or check out little zen one, they have a try before you buy program where you can sign up to "host" different carriers for a week and then if you don't like it you just pay the sh

When baby is really young, I have loved the stretchy wraps. These are by far the most comfortable for us both and I can tuck her head in and get on with my day without having to worry about supporting her too much or accidentally waking her up. I had an unplanned C section and find that this is the most comfortable sling for my back and was easy to use early days with my healing scar. For structured carriers I have Tula Free to Grow and Explore. I like both but prefer the fit of the Free to Gro

I have narrow shoulders and the same weight, but I am taller. I have a woven Tula FTG, which is an h back, but it doesn't bother me. I haven't tried the cross back though. I started using it when my baby was around 2 months (a silly baby wrap in the newborn days), but this carrier is pretty adjustable, you can adjust the length of the panel as well, which makes it a better option than a HP Lark for instance. I live in a tropical climate and it is ok for me even though if it is 100% cotton so no linen blend. It is the woven version, so very soft and cushy. I have also just ordered a Sakura Bloom Scout and although I can't give my personal opinion yet, I did tons of research. People tend to highlight that the waistband is very nice and supportive and they also have a great selection of breathable fabrics. I love the design. I think it will be a great option in a hot climate, it does not seem to be bulky at all.

Personally I don't like the stretchy wrap, I am moving too fast chasing my toddler and it loosens up and makes me nervous. I live in FL and use a Tula FTG for indoor activities since it's bulkier and hotter, and a Happy Baby OG linen for outdoor activities. Both fit newborns once they are 7 lbs and are easily adjustable and can be used for months, my first baby was in their FTG until 16 months and he was a 99 percentile for height!

I second the happy baby carrier og as well as Tula free to grow. I have both, and love each for different reasons. Both are linen cotton blend so pretty cool. Both are H straps in the back and are front or back carry. My babe is 11lbs, and I found he prefers the Tula. It cinches a bit smaller and is more comfortable for him at the thighs. I prefer the apron style of the HBC, though. I have cinches the hbc on the outside to get it smaller, but he still mostly fusses in it, so I'm looking forward to when I can use it more. Sitting down wearing the free to grow is a pain and mildly uncomfortable (only for me). I've heard about the lark, but I do t have any personal experience.

As a Floridian I'm obsessed with my Integra Solar, it's surpassed my linen Tula FTG as my primary carrier. I got it through the Little Zen One Try Before You Buy program and couldn't let it go.
