IKEA Sniglar

We wanted real wood and to not break the bank, so ikea it was. The sniglar is a great crib, super simple and fits our aesthetic. It converts to a toddler bed and comes with the rail, so no fussy pieces to buy separately. For less than $150, we couldn't be happier and we expect it to get us through two, possibly even three children.

I have and love the Ikea Sniglar. Unpainted/untreated wood, beautiful and was only $80.

We have the IKEA Sniglar crib and I love it. It's low profile, unpainted wood so it's natural/no chemicals or off gassing, it has adjustable height and converts to a toddler bed. It's also very affordable.

I have an IKEA sniglar crib that cost either $70 or $80 back in 2021. It's solid wood and looks 100% new after 2.5 years of use. I'm going to use it for my second baby later this year. I am very happy with the purchase and absolutely didn't need a more expensive crib.

We have the ikea sniglar and it's amazing!! I love that it converts to a toddler bed, which is how we are currently using it. My baby also liked to put his mouth on the rail when he was younger, so I'm glad we went with an unpainted wood crib.

I got my Sniglar for FREE on Craigslist! It was/is in perfect shape, and you can also always get any missing hardware from IKEA. I saved a search alert on CL so I got an email anytime a new posting came up :) I think you can probably do the same on FB. Love love love the Sniglar, going on 3 years now and hoping it lasts til 5 once we have to take one side off. Good luck!

We have an IKEA singlar (the cheap option I think), it did our eldest for 3 years and our 2nd has been in it for a year and still as sturdy as ever.

can't go wrong with the IKEA one. cheap, no paint, easy set up and easy to convert throughout the stages. my first was in hers for three years. my second will be using it once she outgrows her uppababy bassinet.

My 6 month old has been sleeping in the IKEA Sniglar crib since day one without issue. I bought it for $50 off Facebook marketplace. Highly recommend and it's easy to assemble

We went with an Ikea Sniglar that happened to be on sale at the time for like $80. No bells and whistles but it worked great for our older son as both a crib and a toddler bed and we recently converted it back into a crib for baby #2.

Have you checked marketplace for a secondhand Sniglar? They hold up well between kids. Ours looks basically brand new and my second is 13 months old. My first used it from 4-24 months and my second has used it since she was 2 months old. We've also moved with it multiple times. It's a good quality item that I think I'd be comfortable with getting secondhand.

Thirding? IKEA! You can get a crib with the toddler bed transition piece for under $100 which is safe for sleep, sturdy, and looks great! We loved ours so much that we got the same one for kid #2.

Honestly, I love my Ikea crib. They are super affordable, simple, and I honestly love the simple styling myself. My nursery is tiny, and so I wanted a simple crib with drawers, and Ikea was the only ones I could find that weren't hilariously expensive. The model I have they don't have anymore, super simple crib with drawers, but they have a nice selection right now. My crib still looks perfect, and it's been through a move, and now my second is using it. I mean neither of my kids chewed on it, but still, perfect condition.

I don't know about Delta but if you want an alternative, I went with the IKEA Sniglar which is mostly just unfinished wood. IKEA also adheres to European safety standards which are high.

We honestly just got the cheapest one from IKEA (sniglar. It's got two height adjustments, and I don't really think we'd feel any better about a more expensive bed!

We have the singular cot (not cot bed) and it's brilliant but my baby is just 10 months. I got this one from another mum who used it for her son who was around 3 years (just under) Is yours a similar age?

I did so much research and knew I was overthinking it. I eventually just got an Ikea mattress and crib (sniglar). It was one of the cheapest options and it's been great! I like the simple asthetic of it too

After a huge amount of researching various cot beds and coming close to pulling the trigger on a few £200-300 ones (plus mattress), we went to IKEA at the weekend and bought the Sniglar one because a)it's cheap b)it's made of solid wood rather than mdf and c)it's small I reckon by the time our little one is growing out of it we'll have worked out what kind of bed he might like. It was very straightforward to put together and I like the plain beech wood vibe.

We have the ikea sniglar and it's been great. It converts to a toddler bed too. You have to buy the mattress separate. We have a Graco mattress and it's perfectly fine for the cost. You do not need an expensive mattress, all infant mattresses are safe.

Yes to the IKEA crib! I bought one off Facebook marketplace for $50; it has worked beautifully. I love that it is not painted too since babies will start to chew on the wood.

I've had the Ikea Sniglar one forever and found it way better quality than the price would suggest. Its just plain old solid wood. Converts up and down and then to a toddler bed.

We have this one! I also had the mokee bookmarked, but thought they looked almost identical and, like you say, the IKEA is much better priced. There's a lot of love for the sniglar on Reddit and lots of people have posted hacks for converting it to a toddler bed when the time comes. I'm hoping we'll get a few years out of it at least.

We went straight for the IKEA sniglar right up to the bed. Made breastfeeding easy and meant we weren't buying a bunch of different cots and cribs! We were just very conscious to keep it clear (no where near the duvet/pillows etc).

It's not painted 😂. It's just plain solid wood. It may not be your aesthetic- I totally get that. But it's so simple there is just next to nothing that can go wrong, and even if you look at the reviews, the negative review is like " I lost a critical screw," and the Ikea responses "we dmed you to send you a replacement screw."

We have this cot and it's great. My little one likes it and is still in there at 10 months old, he's asleep in it as we speak! 💤

Ya, I have the plain ikea one that is just the 'unfinished'. My son has been in it for 2.5 years with no issues. It converts to a toddler bed with one side coming out.

Congrats! We have the ikea sniglar and it's been really great as a bare bones style crib. It's got two height levels. It's easy to put together, and it looks decent. Only downside is the toddler bed attachment doesn't have a rail so when we take the one side off the crib it's fully open.

Got a 2nd hand Sniglar for free, or £6 it was, I don't remember. Did the hack to have it as next to me. Still haven't used it since we're expecting, but it's ready. I don't get why people pay £300 for a piece of wood. It's the only cot we would buy. Even the full £60 feels overpriced to me.

Have had the ikea Sniglar and now Obaby Evie, both really pretty and baby is comfy in both (11 month old, started using the cot in her room at about 7 months).

We got an IKEA Sniglar cot, and plan to transition to a floor bed once he's done with the cot.
