Medela lanolin. Pro tip: line the inner ring of your breast pump flanges with it and it's like nip lube and keeps them from chafing! I used to have to put the tube of Lansinoh under a boob for like minutes to get it to thin out a bit— so annoying. Medela is wayyyyyyy better!!
Way better than Lansinoh; easier to use; great pump flange lubricant; no warming needed
I tried earth mama and LO didn't like the taste. I also tried Lansinoh and currently use Medela. I like Medela the best because it's very thick and feels more protective. I wear a nursing bra with washable nursing pads and apply the cream after each nursing session. You have to keep reapplying. Also you can use it before a shower in you're feeling sensitive to anything touching your nipples.
Best of three tried (Earth Mama, Lansinoh, Medela); thick and protective; detailed use routine
I prefer the Medela brand lanolin. It's a little more liquid-like but still gives a lot of relief. I have also tried the Earth Mama stuff, which I found smells great but is a little...greasier? I sometimes use it on the inside part of pump flanges where my nipples rub.
Preferred brand; more liquid-like consistency; gives a lot of relief
Lansinoh Lanolin and Medela Tender Care were my favorites. Plus either a gel cold or completely braless always helped.
One of two favorites alongside Lansinoh; used with cold therapy
Lanolin from Medela. You can also wear it while breastfeeding, it's like lip balm, baby doesn't mind.
Baby doesn't mind the taste; like lip balm texture; safe during breastfeeding
It doesn't matter whether you wear a shirt or not. I found the lanisoh one very sticky and preferred medela, but any lanolin based cream will stain your clothes. You don't have to wash it off before feeding baby. Personally I went without a top and just wore an unbuttoned flannel as anything touching me was painful. I preferred silverettes too. If the pain doesn't start to improve then I'd say get baby's latch looked at.
Preferred over Lansinoh; less sticky; part of pain management routine
