I LOVED the lansinoh lanolin. Still love lanolin now for skin hydration, especially my feet and joints. Big part of the reason I got sheep and took up spinning XD
Loved it so much continued using for skin hydration; inspired keeping sheep
Good God lanolin saved my life. Helped.me get through the discomfort in the first.month. the nurse's at the hospital also gave me a ton.
Saved their life; got through first month discomfort; hospital-provided
Lansinoh nipple balm is amazing. Been using it since I was roughly 13 weeks and I'm now postpartum and it's still doing a great job. No cracked or sore nipples, doesn't stain and is also breastfeeding friendly
Amazing; long-term use from pregnancy through postpartum; no cracking, no staining, breastfeeding safe
I always loved the Lanainoh lanolin cream, the one in the purple tube. It's cheap and you can find it anywhere. I even used it as lip balm when my lips get chapped, it's amazing.
Always loved it; cheap and available; multi-use as lip balm; amazing
Earth Mama got like crusty on me and then was sharp little shards in my bra…?? I must've been doing something wrong. But Lansinoh Lanolin Cream was idiot proof, did it proactively for a couple weeks and never chapped.
Idiot proof; proactive use for weeks prevented chapping; preferred over Earth Mama
I prefer the Lansinoh organic nipple balm over the Earth Mama because of the texture, it's more spreadable than the EM. I appreciate this when my nips are sore! It also has no noticeable scent. I also feel like the silverettes do help a ton, but I had to also get the "o-feel" silicone cushions which makes them $90, so they can be cost prohibitive.
Prefers over Earth Mama for texture; more spreadable on sore nipples; no scent
Use the lanolin! Put a thick layer on. The nursing pads won't rub it off. It actually helps your nipple not stick to the nursing pad/bra. Also, not sure what kind of barrier you are using between your nipple and the bra, but I'd use disposable nursing pads for the first month or so. The fibers of the fabric ones tend to stick to blisters.
Prevents nipple sticking to pads/bra; practical application tips for first month
Lansinoh organic nipple butter. I like it better than earth mama, it's way more smooth
Likes better than Earth Mama; smoother texture
I like the Lansinoh organic nipple balm. It's sheer but hydrating and not sticky. I also like that I don't have to wipe it off.
Sheer, hydrating, not sticky, no need to wipe — multiple positive attributes
I liked the lansinoh lanolin. I slathered it on after every feed after letting a few drops of milk air dry on my nipples
Liked it; used proactively after every feed in routine with breast milk
Lansinoh Lanolin and Medela Tender Care were my favorites. Plus either a gel cold or completely braless always helped.
One of two favorites; used with cold therapy for relief
I used the Lansinoh Nipple Cream. I apply it every after taking a bath as maintenance to prevent sore nipples. I also use my breast milk as well
Regular maintenance use to prevent soreness; used alongside breast milk
I've been using this one from Lasinoh. No noticable stains on shirts or bras but I primarily wear black bras. https://www.target.com/p/lansinoh-organic-nipple-balm-2oz/-/A-76462852
No noticeable stains; currently using and recommending via product link
This is exactly what I did and never had any cracks or real problems at all. I didn't like that it stained my bras but it was worth it.
Never had cracks or problems; stains bras but worth it
I use lanisoh nipple cream before and after pumping and use breast pads for leaking.
Regular before/after pumping use as part of routine
My nipples were mutilated from what it felt like for nearly 3wks. Have improved now at 4wks but still have pain. Things that have helped me have been Lasinoh organic nipple balm, medela gel pads unless your nipples are cracked and bleeding (made the burning worse), rubbing breast milk on them and letting air dry, and medela breast shells (I've used them 24/7 since day #3 — they prevent my nipples from rubbing on the fabric of my nursing bra AND are good to catch any leaking breast milk — get 2 p...
Helped with severe nipple pain; part of multi-product healing regimen over 4 weeks
I used Lansinoh's lanolin cream. It has a consistency of a thick Vaseline. I also recommend the hydra-gel pads from Medela if things are really sore
Used it with specific description of texture; recommends alongside hydrogels for severe soreness
I've been using lanolin after every feed and silverettes on top just to stop my nipples rubbing on my bra/pads. I tried using just the silverettes with breast milk and not sure if that did anything, I found they got quite sore cos the edges would dig into my breast, especially at night. Hydrogel feels good but yeah I agree, not sure if it's actually doing anything!
Uses lanolin after every feed in combo with silverettes; part of established routine
Same. But any time I wore the Lansinoh cream, I'd wear breast pads to protect my bra or shirt.
Uses it regularly but notes need for breast pads to protect clothing
I've only used lanolin and it can be pretty sticky and can leave oil stains on clothes. Worked for me though
Worked but sticky and stains clothes — functional with noted downsides
Your own milk is also super healing. Express a few drops after feeding and after your shower, rub it in, and let it air dry. Also you can just let the soapy water run over your breasts in the shower rather than specifically washing them. It's enough to get them clean and not dry them out with more soap. I will say that lanolin is also baby safe with no need to wipe away and the most amazing lip balm I've ever used in my life. But if you go this route get the kind that doesn't have the sheepy sm...
Baby safe and great as lip balm, but specifically dislikes Lansinoh's sheep smell
It doesn't matter whether you wear a shirt or not. I found the lanisoh one very sticky and preferred medela, but any lanolin based cream will stain your clothes. You don't have to wash it off before feeding baby. Personally I went without a top and just wore an unbuttoned flannel as anything touching me was painful. I preferred silverettes too. If the pain doesn't start to improve then I'd say get baby's latch looked at.
Found it very sticky; preferred Medela and silverettes instead
