Hey folks I found a solution for the bathtub!! After tons of research. Exhausting. Bath tub - went with the Oxo splash and store. I was worried it wouldn't be long enough on the newborn side for my boy but there is PLENTY of space for him for when he gets taller. He's 20lbs now and the tub is rated for 50lbs max. I'm so impressed with the design of it. He has lots more space to spread out and splash, including his legs- not all cramped for space. So easy to drain water. So comfy for my babe- t...
'So impressed with the design', plenty of space at 20lbs/50lb max, easy drain, comfy — detailed enthusiastic review; only caveat is price
https://www.buybuybaby.com/store/product/oxo-tot-reg-splash-amp-store-bathtub-in-grey/5379122 has a post in the center to prevent baby from sliding down. And collapses for storage. Loved it.
'Loved it', anti-slide post, collapses for storage — concise positive
We wound up buying the oxo collapsible tub, which holds water well and collapses flat to save space in our bathroom. It also has a hook so it can hang on the door to dry
Holds water well, collapses flat, hook for drying — practical space-saving positive
Our baby is now 6 months old and she seems quite comfy and happy in the bathtub! (She is very vocal when she's uncomfortable!) She's not a big baby, but as her legs have gotten chubbier her bits don't really go all the way down to the middle piece We're also happy with it/how it's saved space for us!
Baby comfy and happy at 6 months, center piece not an issue for chubbier legs, saves space — follow-up positive
My son is the same age. We loved the oxo too! But we also discontinued use because he kept trying to climb out. At my parents we had The skip hop whale tub, which allows you to remove the sling thing inside so that it's just an open tub without a partition. But honestly my son started trying to climb out of that too so we just do normal adult tub. We've done a regular shower with him on vacations and it was not possible for us to do it without another adult's help, and it also required us gett...
'Loved the oxo' but discontinued because baby climbed out — positive for the product, natural outgrowing
The design was so bad. It basically has a plastic square piece smack dab in the center, designed to help prop up your baby, but the placement is awful. Their genitals basically sit right up against the cube piece, which makes it impossible to clean them. Plus, it has no padding for their heads. We are an oxo brand loyalist for most kitchen items, but this is one of the worst products I've purchased. We ended up getting the fisher price one with the washable sling instead, which we used daily for...
'Worst products I've purchased', center piece blocks cleaning, no head padding — strongly negative despite brand loyalty
