5 months postpartum here. If I had to do it again, I'd 100% buy the evenflow dualride shyft again in a heartbeat. If I couldn't do that, then I wouldn't have a bucket seat, we'd just be in a convertible from birth and I'd buy an uppababy vista with the bassinet, because our baby actually really liked the bassinet for sleep at night. I didn't buy the vista, but we used it at a mom postpartum center in Ferndale MI called Fourth Tri Sanctuary, and she actually slept in the bassinet there, so we got...
'100% buy again in a heartbeat' — strongest possible endorsement at 5 months postpartum, ranks it above UPPAbaby Vista alternative
Not sure how applicable it Will be to living in a city since I don't, but we got the new Evenflo shyft intuiti and love how lightweight it is, easy to collapse, and the rotating car seat base is awesome. The wheels have suspension and I have never had an issue over any ground type- we routinely stroller baby down the gravel driveway and while it's obviously a little bouncy, the stroller handles it with grace.
Loves lightweight design, easy collapse, rotating base. Suspension handles gravel driveway without issues — 'handles it with grace'
I guess the Doona would be cheaper than that. It's a stroller and a car seat in one. There's also the Evenflo shift that's the same thing. With my first child I had the Evenflo Omni that's $229 right now where the stroller can turn into a bassinet and the stroller bassinet part comes out and you can put the infant carseat into the stroller frame. I thought it was easily foldable and was an awesome travel system.
Used Evenflo Omni with first child — highlights $229 price point, bassinet conversion, easily foldable, calls it 'awesome travel system'
Hey just seeing this. We used it until our daughter was 11 months and we love, loved it. It was our only stroller for that period because we (1) didn't get out very much, (2) thought it was fine for little trips, (3) didn't want to choose another stroller yet. We used the stroller part a lot and also detached the car seat from the wheels often to just bring the car seat inside. So I'm really glad we did this one and not the doona. I will say, if I was holding any other car seat, it was noticeabl...
Used 11 months as only stroller, 'love loved it', prefers over Doona. Notes DualRide is heavier than other seats but manageable in stroller mode. Fits in small Hyundai i20.
(US based) My mom works at a church nursery where she cares for over 60 babies in one Sunday. She told me I "needed" the car seat stroller combo for my first baby. The caregivers she sees who have them are convinced they are worth it. We got the evenflo one because it seems to be more recommended by CPST (car seat experts).
Chose Evenflo specifically based on CPST (car seat expert) recommendations; endorsement from church nursery caregivers who see 60+ babies weekly
My friend has the Evenflo and loves it. When I tried to fold it down and put it in my car it was just too big and bulky for us. We ended up going with the Nuna triv and pipa urban system. I understand it's super expensive tho. I would have loved to get something cheaper but I couldn't find anything that would fold and collapse as light
Physically tested the Evenflo — found it 'too big and bulky' for their car. Chose the much more expensive Nuna instead because nothing cheaper folded as compact.
