I swear by the frida one for the tush! Super quick and even has a little light for at night. I might ask my ped about this too because I'd be interested to see what they say about when to change to something else.
'Swear by it', calls out specific features: super quick, light for nighttime use.
We have the Frida Baby rectal thermometer and it's worked great
Direct ownership, 'worked great' — concise but clear firsthand endorsement.
Rectal is most accurate, so I'd recommend it. I really like the Frida rectal thermometer, it makes taking a temperature really easy and my baby is comfortable with it.
'Really like it', 'makes taking a temperature really easy', baby is comfortable.
Pediatrician recommended rectal. We use the Frida baby one and the whole idea of taking a rectal temp also freaked me out at first, in practice it wasn't that bad. I liked the Friday baby one because the probe is small so you can be assured you're not going to put it in too far. Just used a dab of aquaphor and she doesn't even notice I'm putting it in.
Pediatrician recommended, overcame initial nervousness, baby doesn't notice. Specific detail about small probe.
Looks like you have a newborn. Rectal is most accurate(rectal is always most accurate, but especially for newborns). Is there a reason you're taking temp? I like the Frida baby with a stopper because you run the risk of puncturing the bowel if you're not careful. Id try to limit temp taking to if baby feels too warm or cold, and if the temp is low/high take her to the doctor so they can assess best.
Likes it specifically for the stopper safety feature, recommends it for newborns.
I use the Frida 3 in 1 thermometer, it's very accurate for axillary temperature.
Direct experience, 'very accurate' for armpit use specifically.
Frida Baby has a thermometer can be used as an oral, rectal, or underarm thermometer. To be used rectally, it folds in half to prevent you from inserting it too far and has a little flash light. The same brand also has the snot sucker, both manual and electric. I have both and think the manual one is better. I've even used it on myself when my allergies got really bad! The concept seems gross, but the snot gets nowhere near your mouth!
Describes specific safety features (folds in half, flashlight). Owns and uses it.
I would get a rectal thermometer. The Frida Baby one is very easy to use without inserting it too far.
Recommends it, cites ease of use and safety feature (can't insert too far).
Frida Baby Quick Read Rectal Thermometer!
Enthusiastic recommendation (exclamation mark), names specific product.
Just a Frida rectal thermometer. It works well. Our doc only recommends rectal til 3. If it's a moment that rectal temp absolutely isn't happening, just a CVS brand oral/armpit thermometer works fine. We take armpit temp knowing it calibrates .5-1 degree lower than rectal.
'Works well', doctor recommended approach, practical calibration detail.
I know the Frida is highly recommended but we had two extremely incorrect temps with it. We actually were told to go to the ED, and thankfully ran to the store for a different one before going. LO was only 3 months and it had said 102 but it was really under 100. I read a bunch of other reviews that said similarly after that incident.
Two incorrect readings that nearly caused unnecessary ER visit. Specific failure: read 102 when actually under 100.
