I have a 4moms mamma roo for my fussier baby and it's MAGIC. so far only need one
Calls it MAGIC for fussy baby — enthusiastic endorsement for soothing difficult baby
I was annoyed when my hubby said he really wanted to get this - it turned out to be awesome and totally saved our butts for the first 6ish months! It was the only way we could eat dinner together or catch a break for 10-15 minutes once in awhile, it was life-saving and I love it. I understand what you mean by it being expensive for just one kid - but used ones have pretty good resale value. I also appreciated that it took up way less floor space than a swing, and he liked it way better than ...
Life-saving, used for 6 months, only way to eat dinner together, takes up less space than swing, baby preferred it over traditional swing
We have a fisher price swing that does just the back and forth and my son only tolerates it. For like 10 mins maybe. But we got the mamaroo used and he'll sit in it for 30+ mins quietly! Without his pacifier in too which is kind of a miracle for my lo 😂 definitely give it a go and see if your baby likes it!
30+ min quiet time without pacifier (a miracle), compares favorably to Fisher-Price swing (only 10 min tolerance)
It was the best $180 that ive spent for my LO. He only lets me put him there when he is awake and wants to watch his little baby bum. I get Things done while he is close to me.
Best $180 spent, enables getting things done, baby happy watching shows in it
Agreed! We love ours and got it unused on facebook marketplace for $100. Totally worth it considering how much LO loves hanging out in it.
Loves it, baby loves hanging out in it, found good deal at $100 unused
I love my mamaroo, so does my LO. You can get them used on the market place for pretty cheap usually.
Loves it, baby loves it, notes affordable secondhand availability
Not sure why people hate on mamaroos. We bought ours secondhand for $90 and 2 years later it still works like a charm. 4moms sells replacement parts very inexpensively as well, so even if you find one that's missing the toys or with a toy bar that sags it can be replaced for $15 or so. I plan to still use it for our next/last baby and any foster babies we have after that. I'm not obsessed with having the newest or anything so that helps.
Still works after 2 years, cheap replacement parts ($15), plans to use for future babies — positive longevity and value assessment
Love ours. It took practice of a few minutes at a time to get used to sitting in it cause my baby is a stage 5 clinger. Your kiddo may not like that first, practice for a few minutes every day and try different settings. I don't use mine for sleep but I plop my son in there so I can eat, wash his bottles, go to the bathroom, etc.
Loves it, gives practical advice about acclimation period, uses for eating/bottles/bathroom — positive with realistic note about adjustment
I bought mine from someone for $100 and I think it's worth it. I feel bad that he spent so much money lol but I think you will enjoy it. I recommend getting the baby insert from Amazon. For a period, my daughter would only sleep in that thing other than in our arms. I figured the mamaroo was safer. It can be used for a long time too, so I think it's a great gift. But I would be annoyed too haha.
Worth $100, recommends baby insert, used for extended period, only place daughter would sleep besides arms
Jumping into say I got our mamaroo for $40 on marketplace. Check there!
Implies positive experience by recommending marketplace purchase at $40 — suggests worth having at right price
We had both a [MamaRoo](https://www.amazon.com/4moms-MamaRoo-Multi-Motion-Bluetooth-Motions/dp/B0B3F93NYT/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=mamaroo&qid=1698680187&sr=8-5) and a [Graco Swing and Sway](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PTL15D6/ref=br_dsk_yr_itemdt_dp?colid=3O8AR5EYPX7WU&coliid=I34AQFNT17J2F2&th=1). The MamaRoo was awesome, but pretty pricey. I don't know that I'd recommend buying it new, but if you can find a used one, go for it. The Graco one was also pretty great, tbh.
MamaRoo awesome but pricey, wouldn't buy new, recommends used — positive but tempered by price concern
My son hated it except for like a 10 day stint when he was a couple of weeks old. We gave it to our cousin and her baby absolutely loved it for like 6-7 months. It's just hit or miss I guess. We ended up with a $99 graco swing and my son still didn't love it but tolerated it here and there until he outgrew it.
Son hated it except 10-day window, gave it away, notes it's hit or miss — negative personal experience but acknowledges variability
Just chiming in that the mamaroo was not worth it for us lol $300 for maybe 30 minutes of peace each day is not the ROI I was looking for
$300 for only 30 min/day peace — explicitly poor ROI, not worth it
Not worth the $$! And the Bluetooth does not work. My baby tolerates it sometimes but doesn't love it.
Not worth the money, Bluetooth doesn't work, baby only tolerates it — negative value assessment with specific technical issue
We hated the mamaroo. She'd sit in it for brief periods of time but never really fell asleep and it doesnt go as flat as I'd like. Id get a cheaper swing personally.
Hated it, only brief use, doesn't recline flat enough, recommends cheaper alternative
My son hated it, he much preferred the baby bjorn. Thankfully I purchased it used and resold it.
Son hated it, preferred Baby Bjorn, resold it — negative experience with direct product comparison
Baby hates it. Used it maybe 3x total with baby #1 and then it sat in the corner of our living room until I got sick of looking at it. My baby was much happier in a normal bouncer. If I didn't already have one I would not purchase even used for #2
Baby hates it, used only 3 times, sat unused, baby preferred normal bouncer, would not purchase again even used
Both of my kids hated it. After holding onto it for 3+ years I am finally going to try and sell it.
Both kids hated it, held onto it unused for 3+ years, now selling — strongly negative experience across two children
