My son is 15 months now and I still use one for the one time he nurses before bed. I started with the My Brest Friend. It was especially great to use when cluster feeding. And even better for the contact naps. He'd pass out on the pillow and I'd be able to use my arms to play video games or read. Eventually I got the Frida Mom nursing pillow which is what I still use now. It is more plush so it's a bit more comfortable for both of us.
Still using at 15 months, switched from MBF to Frida for increased plushness/comfort. Current daily-use pillow of choice
Chiming in to add that I got the newish Frida mom nursing pillow. It seems like best of both. It has 3 layers inside to customize hight and firmness as baby grows. Can be clipped on like the MBF. We were lucky enough to get both the Frida pillow (for me) and boppy for husband off our registry. We'll see how it goes
Describes specific features: 3 customizable layers for height/firmness, clip-on like MBF. Calls it "best of both" (MBF and Boppy features combined)
I have it and I love it. It has a strap that is pretty annoying but I just don't use it. I also have a Boppy but found it too hard to use with my newborn, it sits too low. The Frida pillow gets her right up to the breast.
Loves it despite annoying strap (skips it). Key benefit: gets baby right up to breast height, unlike Boppy which sits too low for newborns
I actually really liked the Frida mom pillow and that I could take out layers as my LO got older. As my LO got older I switched full time to the Boppy but the Frida mom helped a lot with back support during night feeds.
Liked removable layers feature for growing baby, good back support for night feeds. Eventually switched to Boppy but positive about Frida's utility
My breast friend is the best!!! Frida mom i didn't like the shape of it and the strap was sooo hard to buckle and adjust.
Didn't like the shape, strap was very hard to buckle and adjust. Specific usability complaints compared to preferred MBF
I've tried it upside down and it didn't help. The cushion is shaped such that it was sloped away from my body and gave even less support that way. Unfortunately every time I try it I just end up frustrated one way or another! I have the breast friend too and I would like it much more without the back strap part! The foam is much softer than the Frida but still supportive. I just get annoyed having to wrap it around myself while holding a fussy baby and wish I could just plop it down. The back s...
"Frustrated one way or another" — tried multiple orientations, cushion slopes away, less support. Specific shape/design complaints. Also notes Frida foam is firmer than MBF
