Backpack. Backpack. Backpack. We bought the basic SkipHop backpack about 13 years ago. It was $50ish back then, not sure how much they run now. It was great. Pockets galore. Lots of space. Went through my kids then gave it to a friend. Still going strong.

Second the skip hop backpack, we're on year 4 and child number 2 and it's pristine. Packs a huge amount of stuff and comes with an insulated pouch too. Highly recommend

[We have the Skip Hop Forma bag and love it!](https://www.skiphop.com/skiphop-diaper-bags/V_203100.html?srsltid=AfmBOorjymsbVzD2Avz5FaN6D1kxQ24Uhv59Of9y7zRXMUtj3MnPSfWg) We have a 5yo, 3yo, 18mo and baby number four due in August. We have separate little bags with spare clothes for the two younger kids + diapers/pullups, a giant pack of wipes, aquaphor, sunscreen (probably need some bug spray in there too), tons of snacks, 3 kid water bottles, hand sanitizer, hand lotion, empty folded grocery ba...
Family of 6 (4 kids) uses the Forma; detailed packing list shows it fits enormous amount of gear for all ages
Congrats on baby #2! Honestly, after trying a bunch, I went with a backpack-style diaper bag and haven't looked back, it's so much easier when you're wrangling two little ones. I got a Skip Hop Forma and it's legit held up for years, still looks new even after being dragged everywhere.
Got Skip Hop Forma specifically; held up for years, still looks new even after being dragged everywhere
I like the Skip Hop diaper bag. Had another one before it, and the Skip Hop is an upgrade in organization and comfort.
Upgraded to Skip Hop from another bag; calls it an upgrade in both organization and comfort
I totally get it—I was in the same boat. I ended up going with a backpack-style one from Skip Hop and it's held up great without feeling too "baby bag" if that makes sense.
Held up great without feeling too baby bag — appreciates that it does not look like a dedicated diaper bag
Don't overthink it too much, but know your needs will keep changing. Also it's contextual—do you live in a city or are you driving everywhere. On trips I pack differently (pouches in a bigger bag or dedicated weekender type bag that is easy to fit under seat if they have their own seat on a flight). Also if you're breast feeding vs carrying bottles with you is a big difference in space requirements. We started with a Skip Hop Forma. Good when they're little cuz it's easy to find stuff. Unless ...
Started with Forma — good for finding stuff when baby is little, nice not worrying about mess; notes straps are mediocre
I have an itzy ritzy backpack and a skip hop backpack. IR: love that it has a million pockets. Like others have said, I can reach without looking and grab exactly what I need. A little on the heavy side. Insulted side pockets and back zipper compartment for changing pad. The stroller strap clips are SUPER easy to attach in a second. The styles feel more finished and in line with my personal style (I always liked a good purse!) SH: very lightweight. Nylon, so good for outdoor activities. Not m...
Owns both IR and SH; SH is very lightweight nylon, good for outdoors and gym, easy wash, but fewer compartments means jumble inside and annoying stroller straps
Second this. We've had ours a couple years and it's held up way better than our skip hop diaper bag. Lots of good colors, has a lot of nice pockets.
Another bag held up way better than their Skip Hop over a couple years — implies Skip Hop degraded faster
The Dagne Dover dupe from Amazon. I LOVE it. I couldn't fathom spending the actual amount on a real one and I'm glad I went for the dupe. We got the skip hop one at our baby shower and used it but it was not comfortable for me personally or big enough. We use that as our toddler daycare bag now because I don't care how messed up it gets.
Got it as baby shower gift; found it not comfortable and not big enough, demoted to toddler daycare bag
My skip hop bag broke within a week. I used my REI backpack for 2 babies and it was great.
