I was a school nurse for 5 years—I HATE forehead thermometers. They're about as accurate as using the back of your hand on their forehead. Vicks makes a really good rectal thermometer that's very easy to use. I know a lot of parents feel uncomfortable doing rectal temps, but the Vicks one is very short, easy to use, and FAST.

Yep! I will confirm as a parent the vicks thermometer is great. Kiddo barely notices it and it's about impossible to screw up.
