Yes! We used the Uppababy Cruz V2 with both kids and used the bassinet attachment with it (which I sold this morning for 50% of what I initially bought it for. So absolutely worth it with how much use I got out of it through 2 kids. I'm also having a lot of feelings because it was my favorite piece of baby gear and I'll never have a baby little enough to use it again). The stroller still has tons of longevity left and still looks and works like new after over 2 years of heavy use.
Used Cruz V2 through 2 kids over 2+ years of heavy use — 'still looks and works like new.' Favorite piece of baby gear. Bassinet resold at 50% value.
If you have the money, the uppababy system was great for us. We got the Cruz stroller, the Aria car seat, two car seat bases (one for each car), and the bassinet attachment. The car seat and the bassinet attachment clicked directly into the stroller, and the car seat clicked directly into the bases in each car. Honestly the best investment for our family.
UppaBaby Cruz + Aria system was best investment for family. All components click together seamlessly. Perfect for apartment living.
I am obsessed with my UB Cruz but I have heard from other moms who think it is bulky and heavy - honestly I don't necessarily agree although it's not super lightweight I have no issues with it. I love the Cruz so much!
'Obsessed with my UB Cruz' — disagrees with claims of it being too bulky/heavy. Acknowledges not super lightweight but has no issues handling it.
All double strollers are pretty big and bulky. I personally would go for something smaller until you have another child and see what yours needs still are. I'm probably biased, but I think the Uppababy Cruz is an awesome stroller and the perfect size—not too small and not too big. I worked as a nanny so I've used a bunch of different strollers! The wheels can handle different terrain, basket is big enough to run errands/grocery shop, the bassinet is compatible or you can use the snug seat insert...
Professional nanny who has used many strollers — calls Cruz 'awesome' and 'perfect size.' Specific details: handles different terrain, basket big enough for grocery shopping, bassinet compatible, ride-along board option.
I think it depends on when you want another baby and your timeline. But I decided if we have a 3 year gap, I would do a kick board and buy a cheap double stroller if needed! Love our Cruz tho. It's the best. I got a used bassinet on marketplace also…not worth it to buy new IMO.
'Love our Cruz, it's the best.' Practical tip about buying bassinet secondhand. Plans kickboard for sibling rather than replacing stroller.
I have the same year crv and a cruz v2 and the mesa v2 cat seat. I love it!
'I love it' — owns Cruz V2 + Mesa V2 combo, confirms fits in Honda CRV (common family SUV)
I highly recommend looking for second hand options. We got an UppaBaby Cruz V1 in 2022 for $200 on Facebook marketplace. Tag says it was made in 2018 and the thing is a tank. It came with the bassinet and I bought a new UppaBaby car seat to go with it. We are expecting baby 2 now and will have a 27-month age gap.
Cruz V1 from 2018 still 'a tank' in 2022. Excellent used value at $200. Durable enough for second child. Strong endorsement of quality.
Love our Uppababy Cruz, which we opted for because it's smaller, lighter, and slightly more compact than Vista. We knew we weren't going to have more than one child in our stroller at a time so it made more sense for us than the Vista. We got the Mesa car seat rather than Aria but I think that's just the bundle Uppababy had for our market in 2021, with our first child.
Love Cruz for being smaller and lighter than Vista. Right-sized for single child use. Good match with Mesa car seat.
Second the Cruz! It's a great stroller. We got the bassinet off FB marketplace brand new still in the plastic from someone who had gotten it with their vista V2 but didn't need it. Then we resold it for $50 when we were done.
Confirms Cruz is 'great stroller.' Practical tip: bought unused bassinet from Vista owner on FB marketplace, resold for $50 when done — demonstrates ecosystem value retention.
I have a nuna pipa rx with uppababy Cruz stroller. The car seat is lightweight but idk how light the stroller is compared to what you have. I am petite and can lift and fold/unfold the stroller myself with no issues though. I have the ring adapter for the car seat which makes clicking it into the stroller super easy.
Petite user can lift and fold Cruz with no issues. Ring adapter makes Nuna Pipa attachment 'super easy.' Confirms cross-brand compatibility.
I'm a FTM due in a couple weeks. We live in a multi story condo with a lot of stairs (lol) and a dog, so I did try to factor in weight of both the stroller and car seat. We bought the Uppababy Cruz with the Nuna Pipa RX. The Cruz is a bit smaller and more lightweight. Though it can't convert to a double stroller, I thought I could always resell it and get the Vista if I end up having another baby. I decided against the Uppababy Aria as I had read about the chin to chest issues in the Mesa and I ...
Chose Cruz for multi-story condo with stairs — smaller and lighter than Vista. Paired with Nuna Pipa RX. Factored in weight for daily stair carry. Considered resale value if upgrading later.
We got uppababy cruz + chicco keyfit 35 (and its adapter) UB's car seat was too expensive, and we don't own a car in the city so don't plan to use it much. Chicco keyfit seemed like a great option from what we researched. We chose UB cruz because we liked how sturdy it felt compared to more compact models like Yoyo, Joolz etc. It's not small or light, but we preferred something susbtantial if we'll use for 3+years. We'll see if we hate it or not (baby's due in May)
Chose Cruz for sturdiness over compact models (Yoyo, Joolz). City dwellers without car. Paired with cheaper Chicco KeyFit 35 instead of UB's own car seat. Planning 3+ years of use.
FTM due in July. We looked at so many. Similar situation to you but also trail walks. We didn't like the mockingbird as much and it felt flimsier than others. We looked at a graco, a chicco system, mockingbird, nuna, and Joie. We settled on a chicco keyfit 35 and an uppababy vista v3. We almost got the v2 bc the color we wanted was on sale for 799 w the bassinet.
After comparing 5+ brands chose UppaBaby (Vista but relevant to Cruz comparison). Felt sturdier than alternatives like Mockingbird.
I bought a Chicco keyfit car seat and an Uppababy Cruz (an open box one from Rebel Stork). I figured we'd invest more in a stroller bc it will be used long term and the infant seat will only be used for a year or less. The Uppababy Cruz and Vista have an adapter for Chicco car seats for $50- but I bought the infant snug seat insert instead (also $50).
Chose Cruz as long-term stroller investment. Compatible with Chicco KeyFit via adapter or infant insert. Smart value decision.
