Thanks this is the exact info I was looking for! Also same with daycare. I will definitely have to use some plastic, but hoping to use glass at home. I hear the Balance nipples fit on the Dr Browns because I agree I love the wide nipples for latching. I also switched to the wide neck setup after the first couple months to really help with that.

Why do you say it's a controversial take? My family agrees with you in regards to Dr Brown's. They are the best that we've used. As I stayed in the other comment, the anticholic straws were a game changer from my daughter.

i tried dr browns, philip avent, evenflo, and lansinoh for my baby who had latch issues. Lansinoh was the best

I love the avent bottles with the lansinoh nipples. We did also use lots of Dr brown at fist cuz that's what we were gifted and that is unfortunately but predictably what the little one showed a preference for. I stopped nursing when his first tooth came in around 6months. Before the tooth erupted, dude was already willing his head up while latched so the nipple stretched and popped out of his mouth… I gave him 3strikes once that tooth came in and we were done. I exclusively pumped from th...

My baby loved the Dr. Browns anti-colic. She swapped between these and the boob with no issues!

We bought Dr. Brown's and hoped for the best. They are the only thing she's ever known and has loved them. I feel like it was more about the timing of when we introduced it than anything. We introduced bottle RIGHT at the 3 week mark. I'm so glad we didn't do it too soon or late. We're lucky she's always done bottles no issues.

Lansinoh bottles. Hard to get in random stores, at least here in Canada, but highly recommended by my LC as the nipple is the closest to the breast in babies mouth. We tried Como Tomo, Avent, Dr Brown - all failed but those. he loves them! no problem switching back and forth between nursing and bottle feed if that's what you are after! You can get them on Amazon

Obsessed with boon nursh. The part that touches milk is all silicone and so much easier to clean than the Dr. Browns we used for our first

Just sharing my experience with the [Evenflo Feeding Premium Proflo](https://www.dansreview.com/product/B07DHVJNC8) (specifically the Balance+), it's seriously the MVP if you're breastfeeding but also need to pump and have someone else feed your baby. My little dude is picky as heck and I tried so many bottles - Dr. Browns, Avent, MAM, you name it. For real, my kitchen looked like a bottle graveyard. But this one? Total game changer. Baby latches on the nipple way easier, no weird nipple confus...

I use glass bottles from Dr. Brown and Philipps avent Both work great. I never used any other and I put those on the registry before I knew if baby will like em or not. But there's a baby bottle box from baby's list you can get different brands different forms of nipples etc. to figure out which you like best with your LO

1) if you have the collar and nipple from evenflo balance narrow they fit on lifefactory glass bottles. 2) I did try evenflo balance wide on different bottles but I don't remember which collar they fit in. I had a couple different collars/bottles and tried several nipples to find the best for my baby that had oral ties. It was one of the avent or wide Dr browns I think. Pigeon fits perfectly in the standard anti colic avent collar, and that collar fits perfectly on glass avent naturals. Pigeo...

We use Dr Browns glass bottles, it seems the plastic bottles are where the leaky issues come from. We love the glass bottles so much!

We have something like 18 bottles and are EFF. Our dishwasher doesn't sanitize, so we bought a sanitizer/dryer and use it a ton. (Really came in clutch when our baby had thrush.) We also have a bottle washing wand because we wash by hand. I'd recommend getting a variety of bottles with different nipples to see what your kid will like. Preferences can change, too. Our kid liked Phillips Avent until about 2 months old, then it was all Lansinoh. Dr. Brown have been neutral from the start. We als...

are you going back to work or planning to leave baby with another caregiver regularly? if so, i will let someone else answer how many bottles to get. if you plan to stay home and bottles are only for occasional use (like if you are going out for a few hours), you really only need a few. a lot of people will say not to buy many bottles of one type because you need to see what your baby will take. however, a lactation consultant will probably have suggestions on what types are appropriate for a ...

Evenflo wide nipples, I use glass bottles but evenflo doesn't make them so I use their nipples on Phillips avent, mam, and dr brown wide bottles. I think these nipples are more breast like in shape bc they're wide and have a shorter teat.

I wanted to use anything other than Dr browns because of number of parts, but with both my kids that's what we ended up with after spending a lot of money on trying other brands. Dr Browns premie was the slowest flow and both babies latched really well. One was EFF and one combo fed, both no issues with Dr browns.

I bought a pack of the evenflo classic glass bottles and the balance nipples & collars work great. I've never had leaking issues. Unfortunately I believe you have to buy the plastic balance bottles to get the collars, they don't sell the collars on their own, and the collars that come with the glass bottles are not compatible with the balance nipples. But for me it was worth it. I try to use glass as much as possible but daycare requires plastic so I do end up using the bottles that came with th...

Was planning on being EBF but needed to supplement with formula for the first few days and then ended up pumping so my husband could take a middle of the night feeding - we ended up using the Dr. Brown bottles with the anti-colic thing and the premie nipples per our lactation consultant's recommendation (they're super slow flow so discourage bottle preference). These worked for us! I think we had 2 small ones to begin and eventually upped to 4 small ones and 2 large ones (large ones weren't real...

Yeah we settled on dr browns. Dishwasher is a must!! We use boon grass dryer thing to dry all the parts. Although I will say I've been fighting with it occasionally leaking from the rim and I can't figure it out whether it's just one lid that is constantly causing problems or what. Like 90% of the time they are fine but ugh when they leak… 🤬🤬🤬

My baby liked Avent after we bought 8 Dr. Browns! In hindsight I recommend trying a small amount before assuming baby will like anything m. That includes diapers, wipes, lotion etc.

We like Dr Brown's and they were recommended by our lactation consultant as well. I can't remember the details now, but there are certain bottles that are not designed well for babies who also feed at the breast, so we found out it's not necessarily "whatever your baby likes!"

Evenflo balance wide neck. The nipple latch closely resembles that of a boob, good for EBF babies who also take bottle once in a while. Always recommended by other similar reddit posts to this, that's how I discovered them and they work great with my 8 week girl who 90% nurses and 10% bottle feeds breastmilk, after rejecting the nipple on Dr Brown's and Philips Avent

You are not overthinking, I did the same thing. We also wanted glass. We tried dr browns glass and philips avent glass and both worked fine. People complain about the dr browns parts, but it did not bother me because we use the baby brezza bottle washer. It holds the bottles and has dedicated spots for the vent pieces, so I am not scrubbing each one by hand. If you are exclusively pumping, having something that makes cleaning easier helps a lot. I would not buy eight of one bottle right away. Ma...

Seconding this - the Dr. Brown wide bottles with premie nipples have worked well for us, but we have found that you do have to be intentional/strategic about how to feed baby without them getting too fatigued because it isn't the easiest nipple. The OT at the hospital recommended these since we needed to use a bottle early on (baby was in NICU but not premie), and wanted an easy transition to EBF.
Generally positive context based on recommendation/usage
I had the opposite experience so it really is going to depend on baby. We have so many Dr Brown bottles and she hates them (both the wide mouth and the narrow). Yes, with almost any bottle you will have to determine what nipple flow will work best for you and your little one. For us, we attempted the Dr Brown with a premie and a level 1 flow (also per lactation consultant as these were the bottles we had registered for) but after 2 months of age she was too frustrated by the slow flow. I perso...

oh wow! this would have been a huge help for me to know! i had the hardest time finding dr brown glass in 4 oz (which is the most my 11 month old has ever taken at a time lol) and ended up using mostly plastic. but we'll be done with bottles soon anyways.

I have a close family friend who is an IBCLC and asked her if there's a bottle she thinks is best because I've seen things about how they should pass the "triangle test" and whatever. She told me that the best bottle is the bottle your baby will take. I like the Avent Natural bottles because the nipples don't leak if you just hold it upside down like a lot of other bottles like the Dr Browns do, but that's just my own personal preference and thankfully both of my babies have liked them.

We use Life Factory with Dr Brown nipples (they're compatible!). The Life Factory bottles are super high quality and the silicone sleeves keep them extra durable.
Generally positive context based on recommendation/usage
We use the dr brown glass bottles. The only thing is that you have to wait until the bottle has been heated up before adding the plastic parts to prevent microplastics and all that stuff.

we only used dr browns and never had any issue with leaking tbh for me its the best bottle and its glass which is a big plus for us

Dr Brown's. Hands down. When my daughter was first born, we had a bunch of various brands to try out. Over the last 6 weeks we settled on Dr Brown's. As long as you do not overfill the bottle, it will not leak. The anticholic straws in the bottle are phenomenal. My daughter went from having to be burped several times over 3 oz to only need to be burped at the very end. She very rarely spits up now that we are using the anti-colic straws with it. I purchased a used Dr Brown pump for my fiance as ...

We just throw all the parts into the dishwasher - everything comes clean. The hospital sent us home with ready to feed formula, tiny 2 oz bottles, and a ton of nipples. We used those for a week or so then started moving into others (mostly Dr. Browns and Suavinex).

I really like the new Munchkin bottles, the silicone is super soft and I love that the milk does not touch plastic. I would say they are nearly identical to the Dr. Brown's narrow glass bottles I've even been able to use the Dr. Brown's nipples on the Munchkin bottles. The Munchkin 1 nipple was a little too fast for my 4 month old (he has reflux) so I ordered the Dr. Brown's preemie nipple and they fit perfectly and are much slower flow wise. No leaks plus you can order the Dr. Brown's nipples...

I don't get all the hate for the Dr. Brown's parts. It's really not that bad ime. I use Dr. Brown's narrow (without the sleeves 99.9% of the time) in both glass and plastic. I haven't used them yet, they're still sitting in my Amazon cart, but maybe check out the Boon Nursh for a non-plastic, non-glass option. The default nipple doesn't pass the triangle test, but they sell one that does. A couple things to consider though: -Your baby may ultimately make this decision for you. You might do a...

We used the lifefactory bottles, they don't have a venting/anti colic device but can use dr browns nipples. Similarly no milk is touching plastic and it's made of borosilicate glass. They're not the "silicone bonded" glass but come standard with silicone sleeves.
Generally positive context based on recommendation/usage
I use dr. Browns w the smallest size nipple and side lying feeding nit gravity deeding with bottle. This puts baby in charge of how much milk they are getting and helps avoid flow preferences.

Just recently took a breastfeeding class, and the lactation consultant recommended the narrow Dr. Brown bottles.

You'll need small bottles to start with and bigger bottles down the road when baby is drinking more at once less often. You're also going to want a countertop washer. Washing pump parts and bottles sucks and takes a ton of time and you probably don't want to run a full dishwasher a few times a day. It's worth every penny, they go on sale frequently, and influencers often have coupon codes. We use Dr Browns because we want baby to come back to breast eventually and having the washer makes all...

We used the lansinoh slow flow and the dr browns level 1 when he was little. Eventually moved up to the medium flow and lansinoh brand only (I have a fast let down and he was getting frustrated with the bottle being slow).

We bought a whole set and LITERALLY none of the nipples work, AT ALL. They suck for hours and get nothing. Hell I even tried them and couldn't get much of anything. What a complete waste of $60. It sucks because I was very excited for the Philips Avent set and had to do research/make a case & convince my wife! In the end Dr. Brown's are just too damn solid and reliable
