I specifically wanted one without Internet connectivity, computery integration of any kind, or even wifi compatibility (work in software long enough, you have deep second thoughts about anything Internet-connected or even theoretically interactable from your home wifi network connected to anything involving health or baby) Have nothing but good things to say about [these](https://www.amazon.co.uk/HelloBaby-Wireless-Temperature-Monitoring-Interface/dp/B01MYYTFVI/ref=sr_1_3_pp?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.nF...
Software engineer perspective — "nothing but good things to say", "extremely reliable", values complete disconnection from internet/WiFi. Specific professional reasoning for security choice.
We have this one: HelloBaby Video Baby Monitor, 3.2" Color LCD Screen with VOX Sound Activate Night Vision & Temperature Sensor, Two-Way Talkback System, White Camera (HB32) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07CZ8DYRB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Q79tEbP1JB14D We like it a lot - it's got night mode, temperature sensor, plays lullabies, all the usual jazz, and the microphone/vox mode is incredibly sensitive. He was napping one day and my partner closed the car door outside, and that made the screen turn on....
Names HB32, "We like it a lot", "incredibly sensitive" mic that detects car door closing outside. Lists features: night mode, temp sensor, lullabies, vox mode. Feels secure about detection.
Hello Baby - so many others recommended to me, and almost 2 years later we've never had an issue.
"almost 2 years later we've never had an issue" — specific duration, zero problems, came via multiple recommendations. Strong reliability endorsement.
HelloBaby Wireless Video Baby Monitor with Digital Camera, 3.2 Inch Screen Night Vision Temperature Monitoring & 2 Way Talkback System UK Interface Plug (HB32) https://amzn.eu/d/bd5m4L5 This has been our monitor for the past three years, it's got a very sensitive mic (switches off the screen to save power in vox mode, but even a car going past outside can make it come back on, so we've never missed a peep from the kid). Battery isn't what it once was, but we do keep it on charge all day every d...
Names HB32, 3 years of use, very sensitive mic, good temp sensor, good night vision, signal reliable throughout house/garden. Battery degraded but possibly due to overcharging. "bought another one for baby number two" — ultimate endorsement.
Got a hello baby one from Amazon and I really like it
Owns Hello Baby from Amazon, "I really like it". Brief but positive with reasonable community agreement (4 upvotes).
We have the amazon hello baby one, it has video and detects a light when my baby cries. Think we paid like £60 for it. My baby is 15m now and we've used it since around 8m when he would go bed.
Specific price (~£60), 7+ months of use (from 8m to 15m), video and cry detection light features. Functional positive.
We got the Hello Baby monitor. Actually saw it recommended through Reddit and we wanted something non-wifi. We got ours through Amazon. It's nicely put together and very easy to use. https://www.hellobaby-monitor.com/products/https-www-amazon-com-hellobaby-monitor-29hour-battery-temperature-dp-b0bl3npjnc-ref-sr_1_1-crid-1m3f5crzaj72p-keywords-b0bl3npjnc-qid-1686733026-sprefix-b0bl3npjnc-2caps-2c285-sr-8-1?variant=43362353381543
Found via Reddit recommendations, non-WiFi, "nicely put together and very easy to use". Straightforward positive from direct owner.
We've got one by hello baby, from Amazon like 4 years ago and it's still going, range is pretty good, only issue is just before it turns the screen off it goes bright white for 2 or 3 seconds with the logo which lights up the whole room!
4 years of use, still working, good range. One specific annoyance: bright white logo flash when screen turns off. Positive with minor quirk.
I was gifted a hello baby monitor for my first. It was fine, screen was a bit small but I liked that it wasn't WiFi dependent so we took it everywhere with us (grandparents, on holiday etc). However it only lasted about 18 months and the screen packed in. Maybe cause we travelled with it so much 😅 I bought a Blemil one on Amazon with 2 cameras when I was pregnant with number 2. Again not WiFi dependent, no signal issues, picture quality is good, larger screen. Absolutely no complaints. I paid 9...
"It was fine" but screen packed in after 18 months of heavy travel use. Small screen noted. Liked non-WiFi portability but ultimately replaced it. Mixed — functional but not durable.
We have a Hello Baby monitor. It's the mid-range one, bought late last year but they already seem to have upgraded it and the exact one we have is no longer available. I wouldn't recommend the one we have unless you are really on a budget. I wish we'd paid more for a better one but we're here now. It works but it annoys me... 1. The sequence of button presses to set eco mode etc is too long 2. It randomly loses signal for no reason at all - often doing this when directly underneath our babies...
"I wouldn't recommend" unless on budget, lists 5 specific issues: complex button sequences, random signal loss, no temperature, poor battery, picture freezes. Wishes they'd paid more.
