https://babysensemonitors.co.uk/products/hd-split-screen-video-baby-monitor-1-camera-hd-s2 I bought this one and it is brilliant. The picture quality is like a phone camera, playback/ live speed has no lag, the sound is really good - you can set the volume, it has an inbuilt temperature and white noise sounds.
"it is brilliant", picture quality compared to phone camera (high praise), no lag, good sound with volume control, temperature sensor, white noise. Specific HD S2 model linked.
Honestly we brought the owlet monitor and sock when I was still pregnant thinking the tech would be great, and help with any anxiety around our baby's sleep.... It took me 2 weeks post partum before I even remembered about the owlet sock as I was just chill about his sleep in the end...then with the monitor when I started using it was a pain as I had to use the app on my phone and my husband was worried about it being hacked all the time So I decided to sell them and get the baby sense monito...
"Best purchase ever" — switched from Owlet to Babysense, clear pictures day/night, accurate temp, decent battery, portable monitor. Direct comparison showing Babysense superior for this user's needs.
Babysense is amazing! And it doesn't need WiFi https://amzn.eu/d/05LPmNO
"Babysense is amazing!" — enthusiastic with no caveats, highlights non-WiFi as key benefit.
Ditto - love the baby sense camera. The quality is fantastic and so easy to use. The monitor connects to the camera instantly - no phaff.
"love the baby sense camera", "quality is fantastic", "so easy to use", instant connection. Enthusiastic with no caveats.
Babysense. Not WiFi connected, can do sounds, has a mic and can move the camera. Image very good. We've had ours 4 years now and it's still going strong.
4 years of use, "still going strong", lists features (sounds, mic, camera movement), very good image, non-WiFi. Excellent longevity.
We've been using Babysense as well for about 6 months now (this model) and honestly it's been one of the better baby purchases we made. The big selling point for me was that it's non WiFi, I didn't really want a live feed of my kids broadcast over the internet regardless of if they say it's secure.
"one of the better baby purchases we made", 6 months use, values non-WiFi privacy. Strong endorsement with specific duration and reasoning.
Fourth this! Had an old BT 6000 Monitor and switched to Babysense when we had our second. Video quality is super clear, range is excellent, can do side by side and also the monitor unit has decent battery life before needing charging. Camera units can be mounted on tripods or clamps for the best views.
Switched from BT6000 to Babysense for second child — "Video quality is super clear, range is excellent", split-screen, decent battery, flexible mounting. Direct comparison upgrade.
My Babysense monitor is fab in the dark. Really good quality.
"fab in the dark. Really good quality" — specifically addresses night vision capability which was the thread's question. Short but specific endorsement.
Old style babysense ones. They are 5yrs old and used every night and are still going strong.
"5yrs old and used every night and are still going strong" — exceptional longevity, nightly use for 5 years. Proven durability.
If you aren't completely set on having app access, the Babysense MaxView Pro is consistently the two-camera monitor that twin parents recommend. It does all of the things you are looking for, other than the app. It also has features like a temperature gauge (with alerts if it gets too hot or cold), white noise / lullabies, microphone, and the ability to turn on a night light. We bought a separate stand from Amazon instead of mounting it to the wall to make it easy to move around when we hadn't...
Names MaxView Pro specifically, detailed feature list (temp alerts, white noise, lullabies, mic, night light), 10-hour battery life, recommended for twin parents. Comprehensive positive review.
We have the babysense 5" one which has its own internal wifi between the camera and the monitor, so theoretically more reliable than radio but without having to connect to the main wifi or being open to hacking (unless someone is right next door I guess). It has great video, you can even see her breathing.
Names 5" model, explains internal WiFi architecture (secure, no external connection), "great video, you can even see her breathing" — specific detail about image clarity.
We have a Babysense one that we love. It's got its own WiFi so you can take it anywhere but doesn't link to a phone. For us that was a bonus as it's a lot harder to hack. We got one with two cameras which has worked well - initially we had one upstairs and one downstairs so we could keep and eye on here wherever she was sleeping. Now they're either end of her cot so she can't roll under one and out of sight 😄
"we love", dual camera flexibility (upstairs/downstairs then repositioned to both ends of cot), portable (take anywhere), security benefit (harder to hack). Creative camera positioning.
We have the Babysense HD one as others didn't give us the range we needed as bedrooms on different floors and it's been brilliant.
Names Babysense HD, "it's been brilliant", specifically solved range problem across different floors that other monitors couldn't.
Babysense Max View has been great so far, really clear detailed picture and good signal in our thick walled home
Names MaxView, "great so far", clear detailed picture, good signal through thick walls. Specific structural challenge overcome.
We just got the baby sense max view, which doesn't work on WiFi. It doesn't have an app but it can pair up to 4 cameras so you can either look at different rooms or just the one room. It can also pan and the video quality is amazing. I got rid of a VTech one which just was a bit rubbish.
Names MaxView specifically, "video quality is amazing", up to 4 cameras, pan capability, non-WiFi. Replaced a VTech they found inferior. Strong positive with direct comparison.
We have the babysense monitor with dual cameras and screens. Works great for us!
Owns dual camera/screen model, "Works great for us" — confirms functionality of multi-camera setup.
Recently bought this babysense cam and monitor on special for £90 (now £120) and I'm very happy with it. You can connect it to 2 cameras at the same time and have a split screen view. More importantly, it is not connected to the Internet. Has most of the other features you'd expect, such as white noise, microphone, vox... https://amzn.eu/d/4qoySL1
"very happy with it", specific price (£90 on special), split screen dual cameras, not internet connected, lists features (white noise, mic, vox). Good value assessment.
There are definite pros to WiFi but you will have more options (certainly with multiple cameras) if you don't go for it. With our first, we had the BT monitor with WiFi. What we found was that it became incredibly hard to 'switch off' from checking it. On the rare times we would be out at night without kids, the impulse to check the monitor would always be there. Similarly when away with work, I'd find myself checking the monitor in the middle of the night despite being hundreds of miles away....
Switched from BT WiFi to Babysense non-WiFi for second child. "We don't miss WiFi at all." Dual cameras on one monitor was the selling point. Also notes WiFi monitors caused compulsive checking behaviour.
[Babysense](https://amzn.eu/d/e0U0X6t) says 300m connection, it works well from one end of the house to the other and so far I've found it to be a good bit of kit. Clear images, good sound quality and the screen is a great size.
300m range claim confirmed in practice (end to end of house), "good bit of kit", clear images, good sound, great screen size. Multiple specific positives.
Yes agreed. We have had the single and double camera option, and when one of our units broke (stopped charging) they sent us a replacement for free
Owned both single and double camera options, experienced a charging fault but received free replacement. Positive — reliability concern offset by excellent customer service.
Third this. When our parent unit broke they sent us a replacement free of charge (we've had ours 5 years now, and other than the parent unit charging port failing- which was the free replacement- they've lasted so well) . Definitely reccomend.
5 years of ownership, "lasted so well", free replacement when charging port failed. "Definitely recommend." Longevity plus customer service endorsement.
Babysense. It covers the whole of his small double (with a bit of minimal camera moving) or we got the set with two cameras that can both show on the monitor (depending on room size/angles).
Owns dual camera set, covers small double bed fully, split-screen capability depending on room setup. Practical positive with specific coverage detail.
We have a Babysense one. Comes with 2 cameras (we keep one at my mums and just bring the monitor unit with us). Covers the whole of our house and now he sleeps in the back room we can go halfway up the garden no problem. 4 bed semi for size comparison. It can go a bit fuzzy when the microwave is on and it's in the same room.
Owns Babysense with 2 cameras, details range (covers 4-bed semi + halfway up garden), practical use keeping one at grandparents. Minor flaw: microwave interference. Positive with specific caveat.
We got the Babysense 5.5" with two cameras. It's been great, and would recommend two camera's as we nearly got 1 camera but having 2 has been very useful. Has had more range than needed, good sound and features. Only issue is the temp sensor on 1 cam has stopped working, need to try and reset it.
Names 5.5" dual camera model, "It's been great", recommends two cameras, excellent range. One issue: temp sensor stopped working on one cam. Positive with minor reliability issue.
