We love the Nanit but it can't connect to some WiFis and you can't use it at places like hotels where you don't have the actual router password. Not sure about other monitors but just a heads up! Otherwise it's amazing.
"We love the Nanit", "Otherwise it's amazing" — but significant practical limitation: can't connect to hotel/guest WiFi networks. Love at home, useless when travelling.
We have the Nanit, you don't need the subscription. We got it initially because our daughter outgrew her snuzpod and had to go in her own room by 4 months so we wanted the breathing band. And it was was fab. I think we got the subscription for 6 months included and then we never really cared enough after that. We like that the white noise and lights stay on all night, the picture quality is great, it's great there's no extra monitor and we can both use it wherever we are. My husband works in te...
"it was fab", great picture quality, all-night white noise/lights, no physical monitor needed, both parents can access from anywhere. Cons: doesn't work without WiFi (hotels), patchy connection issues, expensive. Positive with significant caveats.
Everyone swears by a diff one tbh. But i think nanit pro and infant optics are most reliable. nanit pro has all those trackers and monitors u mentioned. Infant optics is super stable but its less smart. So like less features. I'd recommend get one with all the features and one thats less techy so there's no glitch or anything.
Considers Nanit Pro "most reliable" with all trackers and monitors. Recommends having a backup less-techy monitor in case of glitches. Positive on features but acknowledges tech risk.
I'll go against the grain a bit and say that breathing monitoring wasn't actually helpful for me long term. We had nanit and I found myself glued to the app. With our second, we switched to the ergopouch monitor and it's been a much better fit. It's non-wifi, the video and sound quality are great, the room temperature feels accurate, and the dressing guide has been really helpful. I also love having a separate parent screen so I'm not on my phone all night. The battery life has been solid too, w...
"breathing monitoring wasn't actually helpful for me long term", "found myself glued to the app" — switched away from Nanit for second child. App-dependency created unhealthy monitoring behaviour. Replaced with non-WiFi alternative.
Not Nanit. Ours bricked itself with an update. We have a Motorola now that is ok.
"Not Nanit. Ours bricked itself with an update" — device rendered unusable by software update. Complete product failure requiring replacement. Strong negative.
