Yes!!! My 4 month old just had her first cold and this was the only way to get all of the snot out. Seriously blown away by it, she even giggled while I was doing it. I can't recommend it enough.
'Only way to get all the snot out'; 'seriously blown away'; baby giggled; 'can't recommend it enough'. Maximum enthusiasm.
Saved us when my son had RSV at 4 weeks. He was so congested he couldn't nurse!
'Saved us' during RSV at 4 weeks when baby couldn't nurse β life-critical use case with strong positive outcome.
It has literally been one of the best purchases we possibly could've made with our baby. Can't tell you how many times it has helped him be able to breathe at night when he's been sick. it's quick, easy, and easy to clean.
'Literally one of the best purchases'; helped breathing at night when sick; 'quick, easy, and easy to clean'. Enthusiastic top-tier recommendation.
I have both and for our situation the manual snot sucker is better in every way. * a lot stronger suction - only one or two required per nasal entrance whereas sometimes the electric sucker would have no effect * no noise - initially the electric version was a curiosity but after a few months of non use then using it again our baby hates the noise * does not irritate our baby at all - initially for the first few weeks would try and wriggle away but is now conditioned and just smiles and knows ...
'Better in every way' β detailed bullet-point comparison on suction strength, noise, baby tolerance, and cost. Extremely positive with specific reasoning.
The nose frida works amazingly and my baby boy liked it to. It's really not gross when you're doing it. From the outside it's probably gross, but when you're in the trenches of raising a newborn, sucking snot through a tube is really not that gross compared to all of the other "fun" stuff that comes out of baby. I'd say it's a must buy along with saline drops and boogie wipes.
'Works amazingly', baby liked it, calls it a 'must buy' β enthusiastic recommendation with no caveats.
My husband was also squeamish so we got the electric version but it really can't hold a candle to the OG. The bulbs are just the worst with no good way to clean. The nose frida is truly the only way to go. Though just get a knock off brand so you can get 2 for the same price
Electric 'can't hold a candle to the OG'; NoseFrida is 'truly the only way to go' β strong preference over both electric and bulb alternatives.
Manual one, not the electric one. I was gifted a grownsy electro super and used it for months, thought it worked good, then got a manual one for super cheap on Amazon and it's SO much better st getting out snot then the electric one.
'SO much better at getting out snot' than electric β switched from Grownsy to manual and found it clearly superior.
I *never* thought I would be ok with sucking my baby's snot out through a little tube, but for price reasons we got the Frida and it's actually great! Works really well, bub is chill with it and you don't get any snotty saltiness in your mouth. It's actually so satisfying too π
'Actually great! Works really well'; baby is chill with it; no taste concerns. Converted skeptic with budget-friendly purchase.
Nose frida. I have a bulb syringe but it's impossible to clean and I am more nimble and in control with the nose frida. Which is important. There will be wrestling. I know, the idea made me nauseous before having a child but I promise there is no way you are going to get any boogers in your mouth. It's safe.
Prefers NoseFrida over bulb for control and maneuverability; reassures safety concerns about mouth contact. Strong endorsement.
Ageeed! I have Frida snot sucker which is quick and effective, easy to clean. I also have snotty boss electric one and it is not efficient. You have ti spend longer getting all the boogers out which is tricky when babies/toddlers are so wriggly
'Quick and effective, easy to clean' β direct comparison showing Frida manual superior to electric Snotty Boss for speed and efficiency.
It's not as gross as it seems. Those bulbs did absolutely nothing, my little guy had a couple rough colds that nose Frida was a blessing. Saline drops also help as well before suction if the nose is plugged and dry.
NoseFrida was 'a blessing' during rough colds; bulbs 'did absolutely nothing' in comparison. Strong endorsement for sick baby use.
Through the first year, we used the Frida nose sucker and it was great (and cheap)!! After that, our daughter morphed into an escape artist, and we had to upgrade the equipment⦠The Grownsy has been amazing!
'Great (and cheap)' for the first year β positive with duration detail. Only upgraded because toddler became too mobile, not product failure.
I bought the electric one first, but I found the noise scared him, and it was difficult to get a good suction. After he got pretty congested with a cold, I got the Nose Frida manual, and it was so much quicker. He still hated something being stuck in his nose but I could quickly get suction and move on to the next nostril. Now its my go-to and I haven't used the electric one since then. I would highly recommend a saline spray first as well.
Switched from electric to manual because it's 'so much quicker'; now the go-to device, hasn't used electric since. Clear preference with comparative reasoning.
The manual one is great. It does the job, and it does it well. There's a filter that keeps snot from going up the tube and into your mouth. It's never been a concern for me. That being said I don't have the electric one, and when I lost my original manual one I had when traveling, I contemplated buying the electric one to replace it. However I couldn't justify the price tag when the manual one is so effective. So I bought another manual one. It's also way better than those round bulb things. Th...
'Does the job, does it well'; repurchased manual over electric due to cost-effectiveness; 'way better than bulb things'. Clear satisfaction and repeat purchase.
Nose Frida is the best I've used.. but need to make sure you don't think too hard about what you're doing and gross yourself out !
'Best I've used' β simple superlative with practical advice about not overthinking the grossness.
I use the Frida nose sucker. The one where you put the tip in their nostril and suck the other end. It works really well. My baby hated it at first and now just kinda looks at me like "not again". My pediatrician said to spray saline up first before sucking too to make it more comfortable. I imagine it would feel pretty spicy if your dry boogers got sucked out with force. I have those bulbs all over my house but last night was the first time I used one and it was to suck milk out of my baby's n...
'Works really well' with pediatrician-endorsed technique; baby adapted over time. Positive with practical details about saline use.
I got one and I honestly do not get the hype. Can barely get anything out compared to nose Frida manual.
Implicit strong endorsement of NoseFrida manual β electric 'can barely get anything out' in comparison. Manual is the superior reference point.
YUP! We have both & the electric Frida one, once used enough, shoots snot out of the back hole. You have to shoot a ton of water through it or it'll shoot out old, brown snot months later when your kid is sick again (and we clean out the compartment thoroughly every time). The manual one ends up being less gross in the end. Super easy to clean & lasts a year or so.
Manual 'ends up being less gross'; 'super easy to clean & lasts a year or so'. Prefers manual over electric Frida due to cleaning issues with electric.
I just like the regular frida snot sucker, we've tried the electric and it just doesn't get as much
Direct comparison β manual gets more out than electric. Positive preference for manual with specific comparative detail.
We have the one you suck on with the hose and it works great. Our kid hates it but at least she doesn't wake up with her face covered in snot
'Works great' with a practical outcome β prevents overnight snot face. Positive despite baby disliking it.
I know theyre in a bit of hot water atm but the Frida Nose snot sucker is really good. Its so gross at first but after a couple times you get used to it. We had the bulb ones at first but they just dont do the job and ive heard mixed reviews about electric ones.
'Really good' β prefers it over bulbs which 'just don't do the job'; acknowledges initial grossness but says you get used to it.
I have both and the regular nose frida works better but my baby hates it and I do the electric one for day to day maintenance. Use it with some baby saline drops and you will get those boogies out!
Manual 'works better' than electric; uses electric for convenience but manual for effectiveness. Positive with nuanced usage pattern.
I've tried the suction bulb, the nose frida, a cheap electric nose aspirator, and the NozeBot. The suction bulb is useless. Ok, maybe it's better at getting excess goop out of their mouths, but I never felt like it did anything for their nose except make them extremely angry. I'm also not sure how you ever know you've gotten it clean inside. The Nose Frida is good, and much cheaper than the other options, but its power depends on how hard you can suck. The cheap electric nose aspirator wa...
'Good, and much cheaper'; recommends as sufficient unless child is in daycare. Balanced positive β acknowledges suction depends on lung power but still a solid choice.
Second thisβ¦ Frida nose sucker.. my baby actually liked this one. Must have been the relief of getting it sucked out π only thing is the snot can run out the end of it, sorry but yea it can happen.
Baby 'actually liked' it suggesting positive experience, but notes a design flaw where snot can run out the end β positive with a caveat.
We have both. The snot sucker is more thorough but I also find it gross and it's harder to clean - yet more important to clean - so for these reasons I'm reluctant to use it unless things are really bad. So I got the electric one for the in between times. Your baby is still too young to really fight you on it, but once they know what's happening and decide they don't like it, it's easier to sneak in with the electric than setting up the snot sucker.
'More thorough' than electric but harder to clean and gross β acknowledges effectiveness while noting practical drawbacks.
We got by just fine with the nosefrida snotsucker in our case.
'Got by just fine' β adequate endorsement in context of thread asking about expensive alternatives. Practical sufficiency.
Nose Frida works brilliantly, however I'm positive that I've caught a couple of colds from my baby by using it. Yeah, it has a filter, but the gaps in it are far too big to catch virus particles!
'Works brilliantly' for the suction purpose, but significant caveat about catching colds through the filter β positive on effectiveness with a health downside.
Loved the Nozebot when our newborn got sick. It really did a better job on the lowest setting than the manual Nose Frida. It's annoyingly expensive but it works, especially with the newborn tip (I think this would be the appropriate tip for a toddler, too). The Nose Frida almost definitely got me sick *and* it was getting hard to suck snot with my own lungs when I was also down with a respiratory infection.
Uses NoseFrida but notes it likely got them sick and was hard to use while personally ill. Implicit criticism β prefers NozeBot. Mixed-to-negative for NoseFrida specifically.
